Tongtong heard his friends, Akay, Nene, and Berto laughing as they approached his house.”Tongtong, let’s play in the rain and get soaked!” Akay called out while as she pushed her wet hair out of her face.  \n”I don’t want to,” Tongtong answered. ”Kambang isn’t home yet.”  \nTongtong’s mother sat beside him and rubbed his back.”Tongtong, it’s okay to feel sad,” Nanay said.  \n”Our feelings are like the weather. Sometimesit’s sunny and bright, but there are also times when it’s gloomy and dark. We might want to wish away the rain so we can always play in the sun . But each type of weather, and each feeling, has its purpose. And sometimes we can even play in the rain,” Nanay explained.  \nTongtong thought about what his mother said and nodded slowly.  \n”You can wait for the rain to stop so that Kambang can come home. Or you can play with your friends,” Nanay said.  \nThen Nanay turned to Akay, Nene, and Berto, and asked,”How about you all, what do you usually do when you’re sad?”  \n”Tongtong, whenever I am sad, I borrow mynanay’s lipstick,” Berto answered.”And then I look in the mirror and put the lipstick on!””That sounds fun Berto?” Tongtong smiled.”Then my nanay will tell me that I’m beautiful,” Berto added, smiling.  \n”Tongtong, when I’m sad I read my favorite book about the stars and the planets,”answered Nene.  \n”What do you like about that book, Nene?”asked Tongtong.  \n”When I read it I think about how one day I want to fly out to the stars and planets!” Nene answered with a spark on her eyes.  \n”Whenever I’m sad, Tongtong, I help my Nanay water the vegetables in our backyard,” Akay
