He said that Non Stop Rock would be spelled. A post-race veterinary examination of Non Stop Rock revealed no abnormality.  \nRace 3: Maiden Handicap 1200m  \nOur Krypto raced greenly throughout and hung out rounding the home turn. General Benedict which was racing tight on the inside of Concert Image, ran onto the heels of the weakening Shaw Flight rounding the home turn and was checked. When placed under pressure in the home straight both Stay Positive and General Benedict hung in. When questioned in relation to the performance of General Benedict J Drury explained that her mount did not muster speed in the early stages and felt awkward in its action throughout. She said that after the incident rounding the home turn the gelding did not stretch out properly despite her vigour and only ran to the finish fairly in her opinion. A post-race veterinary examination of General Benedict revealed the gelding had soreness on palpation in the back over the sacroiliac area and was uneven in its gait  \nbehind. Trainer Mr. C Martin said that General Benedict which had only been in his care for a fortnight had not been galloped on the track during this time, however as the gelding had arrived shortly after racing and undergoing significant pace work, he felt that its fitness was sufficient to take its place in the field. He said that General Benedict would now undergo chiropractic and muscle manipulation treatment and would not race for at least one month. Mr. Martin was told that prior to racing again General Benedict would be required to undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness.  \nRace 4: Class 3 Handicap 1200m  \nFaverock bounded in the air at the start and was slow to begin. When placed under pressure in the home straight Snipped hung out. When questioned in relation to his ride V Bolozhinskyi (Faverock) explained that after being disadvantaged at the start he took his mount to the outside of the field passing the 1000m to ride in accordance with his instructions, which were to lead at all costs. He said that although this decision caused him to be trapped wide throughout, the trainer had insisted that he adopt whatever tactics needed to obtain the lead. Trainer Mr. N Green confirmed the instructions and said that although he was aware that the field contained other runners that had patterns that ensured there would be abundant speed in the early stages Faverock had shown a tendency to be reluctant to race to its optimum when headed in its past races and whilst he conceded that the instructions were not technically sound he would continue to instruct whoever rode the gelding in all its future races to adopt these tactics.  \nRace 5: Benchmark 55 Handicap 1000m  \nMillion Reasons which was found to have swelling in its off fore tendon when inspected by the clubs veterinary officer was withdrawn at 4.04pm.
