It complements the publication Steel Bridge Group: Model Project Specification, which was written for use in preparing an execution specification for steel and composite bridgesand which makes reference to some of the Guidance Notes in this publication \nThis is the sixth issue of this publication, which comprises approximately 60 separate Notes. Each Note was originally drafted by a member of the Steel Bridge Group (SBG) and subsequently developed with assistance and comment from other SBG members. The Notes were published in stages in Issues 1, 2 and 3, from 1998 to 2002. In Issue 4, most of the Notes were updated and the whole set re-issued. In Issue 5, there was a thorough review of all the notes and they took into account the change to use of the Structural Eurocodes for design and the revision of many product and executions standards associated with that change. \nThis ","cbCaipLuyC7xzGyB","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaipLuyC7xzGyB","pdf",3653698,314,"English","# Foreword\n## Purpose and scope of the guidance notes\n## Relationship to model project specification and specification references\n## Summary of updates from previous issues\n## New notes added in this issue\n## Steel Bridge Group membership overview","[{\"question\":\"What does this publication focus on?\",\"answer\":\"It presents separate Guidance Notes covering design and construction of structural steelwork for bridges, focusing on best practice.\"},{\"question\":\"What key updates were introduced in the sixth issue?\",\"answer\":\"The issue reviews all notes and updates them to reflect changes in reference standards and refinements in construction practice, including Structural Eurocodes and associated revisions.\"},{\"question\":\"How does the guidance relate to project specification documents like SHW 1800?\",\"answer\":\"It shifts from referencing the SBG’s model project specification toward the Specification for Highway Works, Series 1800, Structural Steelwork (SHW 1800), while stating broadly equivalent requirements may be found in the model project specification for projects not using SHW.\"}]","Steel Bridge Group - Guidance Notes on Best Practice in Steel Bridge Construction - Sixth Issue | PDF",791]
