The confluence of trade and economic headwinds, geopolitical tensions, climate-related shocks, debt vulnerabilities, and tightening financial conditions underscores the urgency of targeted and coordinated efforts to increase economic resilience, accelerate human capital building and strengthen development impact. In the face of these challenges, our constituency acknowledges the World Bank Group’s (WBG) indispensable role within the international development finance architecture and reaffirms its support for the WBG’s expanded mandate to include the protection and promotion of global public goods.  \nAs conflict and insecurity continue to impede peace and prosperity globally, we uphold our strong commitment to multilateral cooperation and stand for respect of international and humanitarian law- in Ukraine, in the Middle East, in Central-Africa, Sudan and beyond-which is integral to our collective peace and prosperity. We commend the WBG’s strong and sustained efforts to support Ukraine in the face of Russia’s war of aggression. We stand united to achieve just and lasting peace in Ukraine in line with the UN Charter. We also express our appreciation for the WBG’s efforts to lean in and significantly expand its support to West Bank and Gaza while standing ready to support its future recovery and reconstruction. The lasting and sustainable peace – based on the two-state solution – that we want, is a vital condition for longterm prosperity in the region. We call on the WBG – together with its partners – to continue its support to the livelihoods ofthe Palestinian people and a credible reform agenda of the Palestinian Authority. We also welcome the World Bank’s electrification project in Syria, approved in 2025 after more than a decade, which represents an important step toward recovery and resilience. We also remain deeply concerned about the immense humanitarian toll of the ongoing conflict in Eastern DRC. As we call on all parties to honor their commitments to advance durable peace and stability, we encourage the WBG to sustain its efforts to support development outcomes in the region.
