Digitalization and Development\n\nWe strongly believe digital technologies create new job opportunities for the gig economy and are likely toincrease energy efficiency,as well as promote progressing public health and education.  \nWe agree with the proposed conceptual framework for prioritizing four pillars of policy within cross-cuttingareas.By fostering greater digital transformation,developing countries should be able to reinvigorategrowth for development.  \nThe WBG plays a pivotal role in promoting countries'reforms for a more open digital market through itsfinancial capacity and convening power.We urge the WBG to provide need-based support to clientcountries in this development agenda.This would include appropriate technical assistance to protect andenhance countries'capacity against cybersecurity risks.  \nWe urge the two Bretton Woods Institutions(BWIs)to remain strongly committed towards investing inbroadband internet connectivity in client countries which will certainly ensure universal access to affordableand high-speed internet.  \nWe recognize the role of IFC and MIGA in this regard.We call upon the two institutions to expediteinvestments in digital infrastructure by providing advisory services,undertaking upstream work,and de-risk digital infrastructure investments using financing instruments that are most commercially attractive toprivate investors.  \nWe reiterate our call on WBG to find a way to enhance coordination and global partnerships with otherInternational financial institutions(IFIs)in order to support initiatives that improve efficiency andconnectivity.  \n# II.
