landscape is facing headwinds from heightened uncertainty,adverse trade policyshifts,geopolitical tensions,persistent inflation,and climate-related natural disasters,resulting in lowgrowth that will be insufficient to foster sustained economic development.For most low-income countries,graduation prospects are looking bleaker compared to the first decade of the 21sᵗcentury.Debtvulnerabilities risk diverting spending away from basic needs while stalling progress in the fight againstpoverty leaves nearly 700 million people worldwide still trapped in extreme poverty.Intensified policyaction at both global and national levels is needed to foster a more favorable external environment,enhancemacroeconomic stability,reduce structural constraints,support human capital building and address thecauses and impacts of climate change.In this challenging global environment,effective multilateralismremains vital as we strive to reach the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).We welcome the WorldBank Group's(WBG)continued efforts to become bolder and more ambitious to address the intertwinedchallenges of development and continue serving as a cornerstone of the rules-based multilateral system.  \nIncreased conflict and violence globally lead to humanitarian tragedies and unnecessary loss of lives whilereversing development gains and undermining development on the local,regional and global levels.Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine is taking a high toll on human lives and livelihoods,and itseconomic spillovers constrain global economic prospects.We stand united to achieve just and lasting peacein Ukraine in line with the UN Charter.We support the WBG's continuous,strong engagement in Ukraineto provide essential services,assist reconstruction,support economic growth and reforms.We also expressour strong appreciation for the WBG's tireless effort to remain engaged in Gaza,alleviating sufferingthrough support in partnership with the UN and other international agencies,paving the way for long-termrecovery and reconstruction.We are also concerned about the development effects of the situation in EasternDRC and call upon the World Bank to engage.  \n# Jobs,the path to prosperity\n\nWe support the WBG's reinvigorated focus on creating jobs by encouraging entrepreneurship andsupporting private sector development,as jobs are crucial to capitalize on the demographic dividend ofmost developing countries.In addition to long-term growth of the formal private sector,we advocate forinclusive job creation policies that generate access to better employment opportunities in the short term.This is critical as 70%of the workforce,especially women and youth,is engaged in the informal sector inmany emerging economies.Our ambition to deliver more and better jobs should leverage the WBG's strongtrack record in building human capital,including through strengthening health and education systems,andshould be based on existing and new partnerships
