Geopolitical turbulence continues to spread, with conflicts erupting frequently in regions such as the Middle East. Unilateralism and protectionism are running rampant, posing serious challenges to international rules and order. Global economic growth faces mounting pressure, and progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals is being impeded. As President Xi Jinping has noted, the rougher the seas, the more we must pull together; we should champion open development where all can share opportunities and achieve mutual benefit; we should promote a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, and build a community with a shared future for mankind. As an important pillar of the global development system anda cornerstone of international economic governance, the World Bank Group (WBG) bears a profound responsibility in advancing open cooperation and fostering global development. China commends the WBG, under the leadership of President Ajay Banga, for upholding its mission and vision, focusing on the jobs agenda, enhancing development financing capacity and operational effectiveness, and supporting members in strengthening economic resilience, actively creating jobs, and driving sustainable growth. China calls on the WBG to work together with the international community to practice true multilateralism, uphold international rules and order, and inject positive momentum into the global economy and development.  \nI. Anchoring the WBG’s Vision to Serve All Member Countries and Promote Global Peace, Stability, and Inclusive Development  \nPeace and stability serve as the foundation for development and prosperity, while openness and cooperation act as pillars of economic growth. In the current global environment, China supports the WBG in actively delivering on its mission of \"ending extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity on a livable planet,\"advancing the development of a \"bigger, better, and more effective\" Bank, providing all member countries with more efficient and targeted services, and strongly supporting global poverty reduction, common development, and job creation.  \nAt present, parts of the world, including the Middle East, remain persistently volatile, exerting a significant negative impact on regional and global economy. China encourages the WBG to steadfastly advance its Fragility, Conflict, and Violence (FCV) strategy, and strengthen its role in post-conflict reconstruction. In strict compliance with the institution's Articles of Agreement and the principle of political neutrality, the WBG should provide sustained support to conflict-affected countries and people in recovery, reconstruction and development. Such efforts will effectively mitigate the spillover effects of tensions and promote peace, stability, and economic growth at both global and regional levels.  \nMiddle-income countries (MICs) represent the largest client base ofthe WBG and serve as a critical driving force for global economic growth and collaborative responses to global challenges.
