A strong and unified response from the international community is needed to preserve hard-won gains in poverty reduction, social inclusion and good governance, and to enable a sustainable economic recovery.  \nWe commend the World Bank for leading the way on the Evolution Agenda on the “Road to Marrakech”, and for actively responding to the call for an enhanced shared vision based on a strengthened business and financial model to respond to the needs of its member countries. We continue to support the World Bank’s active participation in international efforts for the recovery and reconstruction following Russia’s war against Ukraine. We appreciate its efforts to strengthen collaboration with partners across the humanitarian, development, and peace nexus in order to remain engaged in fragile contexts. With a focus on our Constituency, we commend the World Bank for its support to improve the living standards of people, promote sustainable economic growth, enhance connectivity and trade, and accelerate the energy transition in the Europe and Central Asia region. The persistence of the multiple crises is already reshaping the ushering in economic and technological fragmentation. There is a need for the World Bank to further support the resilience of low-and middle-income countries, including of our Constituency, to reverse this trend.  \nImplementing the New Playbook  \nWe are supportive of the new vision and the five proposed outcomes poverty reduction, shared prosperity, inclusion, resilience, and sustainability. We expect the World Bank to continue to serve all its member countries, including low-income countries and fragile, conflict-affected states, where the Bank can make a difference.  \nThe World Bank needs to be better equipped to respond to the increasing frequency, scope, and complexity of global challenges with speed and scale. We welcome the World Bank’s renewed ambition to address institutional and operational constraints to become a “better Bank” and to deliver as One Group, while supporting private sector mobilization and enhancing domestic resource mobilization.  \nThe World Bank rightly acknowledges that improved coordination across the multilateral system to address global challenges is key. Global challenges cannot be addressed by one institution alone. We ask the Bank to move towards a more systemic approach to partnerships with other development actors, in particular regional multilateral development banks, the IMF, the UN, civil society and the private sector. Global challenges must be addressed selectively according to the comparative advantages of each development actor and with due consideration of the broader multilateral development architecture.
