She is having a baby. Someone texted me an hour ago, telling me that she was in labour.”He pulled out his tablet and showed it to the nurse.  \nShe typed in a few things on her computer.“Room 406, go down the hall and take the elevator to level 4 and turn to your right. She should be right there.”  \n“Thank you.” He made his way down the hall. Getting off the elevator, the first thing he saw was Charles staring right at him with a small bag of rippled chips in his hand.  \n“What are you doing here?” Charles took a chip out of the bag.  \n“My mother asked me to be here,” said Skyler,“so I’m here. Is she in the room?”  \nHe scanned Skyler with his eyes.“She also asked you to drop out of the academy, and by your lack of uniform, am I to assume you have started listening to her?”  \nSkyler shook his head. “Still there, just off duty. Sorry for the black t-shirt and blue jeans. What’s with the suit?”  \nCharles finished his bag of chips. “I always wear a suit when in public and you should listen to you mother more, you’ll live longer.”  \n“Not if I stayed home with you, unless you forgot how many times you tried to kill me,” Skyler said, making his way towards his mother ’s room.  \nCharles grabbed his arm and pulled him closer.“You listen to me now, I don’t want you here and you might as well go back to space cadets.”  \nSkyler furiously shook Charles’s hand off him.“Don’t you touch me again. I’m here because my mother asked me. Once the baby is born, I’m out of here and you don’t have to see me again.”  \nCharles narrowed his eyes at Skyler.“I don’t think so. You have not been involved this entire time. What makes you think you have the right tobe here?”  \n“That is my mother in that room,” Skyler snapped back. With his arm stretched out he pointed to the room.“She is giving birth to my brother, your spawn, and I promised her I would be here and I am.”  \nCharles grabbed Skyler ’s arm again pulling him towards the elevator.“You’re a fuck-up and you have already broken your mother ’sheart, so don’t come here and make things worse.”  \nSkyler struggled with his arm. “I told you, don’t touch me! You never did know what personal space meant!”  \nThe elevator door opened and three reporters with press hats and tablets stepped off.  \n“You let go of my arm now, or I will tell the press what you have done to me.”  \nCharles let go of Skyler ’s arm.
