In Florida, these assessments are administered for VPK through grade 2. Your student’s teacher uses the results to measure general achievement in early literacy, reading, and mathematics skills and to determine your student’s learning needs. To learn more about K-2 FAST assessments and how to interpret your student’s scores, refer to the K–2 FAST Parent Quick Guide. \nThe Star Student Report provides information about your student’s test scores and performance. Use this guide to understand the Star Student Report your student received. \nIt is important to understand that these test scores provide only one picture of how your student is doing in school. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s teacher. \nThis guide includes sample Star Student Reports for Star Early Literacy, Star Reading, and Star \nMathematics. These sample reports were generated for a full school-year, using the following benchmarks: \n• Star Early Literacy: District Benchmark \n• Star Reading: Static State Benchmark \n• Star Math: Static State Benchmark \nContents \nClick the links below to jump to the guide for each Star Student Report. \nStar Early Literacy 2 \nStar Reading 3 \nStar Math 4 \nStar Early Literacy \nSample Report \nThis is a sample Star Early Literacy Student Report. These scores will not match your student’s scores, but the information will help you understand the Star Student Report your student received. \nUnified Scaled Score \nScaled Score (SS) is calculated considering the item difficulty and number of correct responses. Scaled Score is useful for comparing student performance across grade levels. The Unified Scaled Score listed is the most recent score if your student had multiple test attempts. \nA \nB \nBenchmark Category Level \nBenchmarks indicate the minimum performance levels that students are \nexpected to reach by certain points of the year in order to meet end-of-year performance goals. Each student is placed in a benchmark level based on whether their test performance meets, exceeds, or falls below the district’s benchmark. \nPercentile Rank \nPercentile Rank (PR) ranges from 1- 99 and compares student performance to other students in the same grade nationwide. In this example, the student has a higher score than 29% of students in their grade. \nC \nD \nPast Tests \nThe chart and table show a record of all tests taken within a selected time period. On the chart, each \ntesting window is labeled and shaded. The gray dashed line represents the minimum proficiency target for all students in the district. The blue dots represent the student’s past and current Scaled Scores. \nE \nLearning Areas \nStrand mastery scores range from 0-100 and show performance in each early literacy skill domain on \nthe student’s most recent Star test. For example, a Strand score of 53 for a 1st grader means the student would be expected to correctly answer 53% of the first-grade items in that Strand. \nStar Reading \nSample Report \nThis is a sample Star Reading Student Report. These scores will not match your student’s scores, but the information will help you understand the Star Student Report your student received. \nA \nUnified Scaled Score \nScaled Score (SS) is calculated \nconsidering the item difficulty and number of correct responses. Scaled Score is useful for comparing student performance across grade levels. The Unified Scaled Score listed is the most recent score if your student had multiple test attempts. \nB \nBenchmark Category Level \nWhen the static state benchmark is \nused to generate this report, the benchmark category level represents how students are expected to perform on the end-of-schoolyear test if taken on the ","cbCaigbVfKzpoxWr","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaigbVfKzpoxWr","pdf",743731,"English","# Contents\n## Star Early Literacy\n## Star Reading\n## Star Math","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the Star Student Report guide for families?\",\"answer\":\"The guide helps parents and guardians understand the Star Student Report created from FAST assessments taken by students.
