They agreed with the high-level outcomes of the CPF, which include economic stability, job creation, and improvements in human and natural capital. They agreed with the two-phased approach that provides flexibility and public consultation undertaken in developing the pillars of the CPF, and urged broad communication with the public on the ensuing reforms. They also asked to include findings from the CCDR and other analytical tools in the implementation of the second phase.  \nDirectors recognized the country’s pressing debt situation, and in an effort to maintain reform momentum, they encouraged the Bank Group to monitor and engage on fiscal and debt issues, and on external creditors, to make swift progress with debt restructuring.  \nDirectors emphasized the need to be more ambitious in the inclusion of gender and youth in the economic fabric.  \nDirectors appreciated the rapid response during the crisis to repurpose existing resources for immediate needs. They also highlighted the importance of the private sector, particularly in banking and SME sectors, and welcomed the active involvement of IFC and MIGA in assisting Sri Lanka’s recovery efforts but also in enhancing the country’s investment climate and business environment to promote inclusive recovery and sustainable development.  \nDirectors underscored the importance of partnership with other development partners, including alignment with the IMF reform agenda.
