One of the primary purposes of our statewide assessment program is to identify areas of curricular strength along with opportunities for improvement in each of the tested content areas.
LEAs are encouraged to review these NJSLA and DLM results in conjunction with locally administered assessments to determine the optimum mechanism to support learning and mastery of our state’s rigorous standards.
Receipt of Individual Student Reports (ISRs)
The chart below details when LEAs and APSSDs can expect to receive ISRs, as well as the 30-day deadline date for LEAs to distribute ISRs to parents/guardians, and the 60-day deadline date to report assessment results to local boards of education.
All assessment results will be sent directly to each LEA’s and APSSD’s central offices.
| | Assessment program | ISRs received by the LEA and APSSD no later than | 30 days after receipt of
reports to distribute to parents1 | 60 days after receipt of results
to report to the local board of education2
| DLM September 2, 2025 October 2, 2025 November 3, 2025 NJSLA September 12, 2025 October 14, 2025 November 12, 2025
1 Per N.J.A.C. 6A:8-4 .3(b): Chief school administrators shall provide educators, parents, and students with the results of annual assessments as required under N.J.A.C. 6A:8-4 . 2(a), within 30 days of receipt of information from the Department.
2 Per N.J.A.C. 6A:8-4 .3(a): Chief School Administrators shall report final results of annual assessments to district boards of education and members of the public at a public meeting within 60 days of receipt of information from the Department.

ISRs will be sent to both the sending and receiving organization for students who receive their instruction at a school other than their accountable school. Once LEAs receive their ISRs for NJSLA, the accountable LEA must distribute them to the parents/guardians within 30 days (see table above) . For DLM, it is the responsibility of each student’s attending school to distribute a copy of the ISR to parents/guardians. The NJDOE encourages LEAs to share the ISRs with students’ families as soon as practicable to facilitate the timely distribution of student results. To support these communication efforts, sample parent cover letters are linked in the LEA Communication Resources section of this broadcast.
District and State Reporting
For NJSLA, summative and summary files were made available electronically to assigned school and district staff on August 20, 2025. Aggregate reports for DLM were made available to assigned district staff on July 18, 2025. The NJDOE strongly encourages school and district leaders to review, analyze and discuss all assessment results with staff as soon as possible.
NJSLA Assessment Results Summary Reports (A","cbCaihbGOHnzWITQ","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaihbGOHnzWITQ","pdf",231394,"English","# Receipt of Individual Student Reports (ISRs)
## ISRs timing and distribution responsibilities
# District and State Reporting
## NJSLA and DLM report availability
# NJSLA Assessment Results Summary Reports (ARSR)
## Purpose and availability
# Reporting Requirement
## Required content and subgroup rules
# LEA Communication Resources
## Cover letters and interpretation guides","[{"question":"What are the deadlines for LEAs to distribute Individual Student Reports (ISRs) to parents/guardians and to report results to local boards of education?","answer":"The memo states LEAs have 30 days to distribute NJSLA and DLM ISRs to parents/guardians after receiving the reports, and 60 days to report assessment results to local boards of education after receiving the results information from the Department."},{"question":"Who is responsible for distributing DLM ISRs to parents/guardians?","answer":"For Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM), the memo specifies that the attending school is responsible for distributing a copy of the ISR to parents/guardians."},{"question":"What must LEAs include when reporting statewide assessment results to local school boards?","answer":"Reporting must include aggregated and disaggregated subgroup data, comparative analyses, and appropriate intervention strategies.
