It summarizes recent Beyond the Classroom sessions on student internships and highlights key speaker contributions. The newsletter details upcoming Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 offerings across POLS 100–400 level courses, including seminar eligibility requirements and advising tips. It also shares progress on institutional racism commitments, describing new seminar work and ongoing equity-focused teaching initiatives. Finally, it informs readers about newsletter submissions and a non-partisan campaign training program for women.","It was good to see so many of you at Professor Buhr ’s engaging and informative Beyond the Classroom presentation in February. The quality of your questions concerning the Russian invasion of Ukraine was impressive. I ’m glad that many of you took advantage of the opportunity to ask good questions of other Political Science and Data Analytics (American Politics Domain) majors during March ’s Beyond the Classroom, which focused on student internships. Many thanks to Erick Castellanos, Cora Heinzen, Abby Siebenaler, and Lily Stringer for sharing how their academic career at St. Thomas was enhanced by experiential learning. I appreciate their leadership.  \nRegistration for Fall 2022 is fast approaching. This fall, we ’ll be offering POLS 104: Government and Politics, POLS 205: Citizen Participation and Public Policy, POLS 225: World Politics, and POLS 370: Explorations in Political Theory. As always, we have a great selection of 300-level courses, including POLS 301: Political Identity and Participation, POLS 314: Constitutional Rights and Liberties, and POLS 352: Politics of the Developing World. Additionally, Professor Buhr will be teaching POLS 350: Comparative Politics of Europe as an online course while she does research in France.  \nImportant advising tip: In 2022-2023, we will be offering three seminars. POLS 454: Seminar in Comparative Politics will be offered in Fall 2022. In Spring 2023, POLS 404: Seminar in American Politics and POLS 424: Seminar in International Politics will be your options. Remember that seminars are open to juniors and seniors who have taken at least one 300-level course within that particular subfield. The College of Arts and Sciences is a national network partner of Ready to Run, which is part of the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers.  \nIn January, Kimberly Peeler-Allen, a national expert on Black women ’s political power, led a session focused on strategies for Black women candidates. In February, our “Running as a Young Woman” session highlighted two recent graduates of St. Thomas: Halla Henderson (St. Paul School Board) and Carly Johnson (Oak Park Heights City Council) .  \nWe’ve now wrapped up our series of free monthly virtual campaign trainings, and we hope to see many of you when we hold an all-day training on campus in Spring 2023!  \nUPDATES: AN OPEN LETTER CONCERNING INSTITUTIONAL RACISM AND BLACK LIVES MATTER  \nIn our Fall 2020 departmental newsletter, we published our Open Letter Concerning Institutional Racism and Black Lives Matter and outlined our own action steps related to this commitment. In this Spring 2022 newsletter, we share the following updates.  \nDr. Caleb Goltz: I created a new judicial politics seminar this spring around the theme of miscarriages of justice.
