That knowledge has stuck with me since I was a little girl. I remember her telling me to touch the spots that I needed Him to touch or heal, and it always worked, even if it didn’t work at the time I needed it to. I was fourteen years old, and according to my momma, I became a young woman earlier this year once I received my cycle for the first time.  \nAt school, a lot of my friends got their cycle when they were twelve or thirteen. I was a late bloomer and had gotten it after everyone. To be honest, I didn’t feel any kind of way about it being late, and if I could have it my way, I would have wanted God to hold off on giving it to me just a little while longer. These cramps weren’t for the weak.  \nMy momma said it was something that I’d inherited from her because she, too, got her period when she was fourteen years old, and she also used to suffer from bad cramps. Momma said that hers were so bad that she would get bad migraines, and she could feel the cramping all in her back. I didn’t get migraines, but I did have back cramping, and twice, I even had tobe taken to the hospital because that’s just how extreme the cramping was.
