You might be embracing solo living as part of your identity and as a proactive lifestyle choice, for example if \nyou live a digital nomadic lifestyle (see the box on page 7 for more on this) . Alternatively, you may have found yourself living alone through circumstance rather than choice – for \nSolo living doesn’t look one specific way \nexample, you might be trying to rebuild your life on your own terms following the breakdown of a long-term relationship or marriage, or you haven’t currently got a partner with whom you wish to live. Maybe you’re a single parent whose children have grown up and moved out, leaving you trying to come to terms with an empty nest. You may have found yourself living alone if your partner has passed away or moved into residential care. \nLiving alone can mean residing in an owned property, in a rented house or flat, or in a shared building where you may have some communal facilities, such as a kitchen or laundry, but most of your living space is your own. You might even live in a more unusual set-up, such as on a houseboat, in a campervan or in a static caravan. You might live in a city centre or in the middle of the countryside, miles from your nearest neighbour. The point is that solo living doesn’t look any one specific way – there are solo dwellers from all walks of life and we don’t all have the same experience of it. \nThere might be different challenges for people who have chosen","cbCaiv3TJDW5IfIT","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiv3TJDW5IfIT","pdf",43665930,1,116,"English","en",105,"# What is solo living?\n## The rise of solo living\n## What is a digital nomad","[{\"question\":\"What does the term “solo living” include?\",\"answer\":\"Solo living is a broad term for people who live on their own, covering many circumstances such as choice, career needs, or life changes.
