While Lewis installs an enchanted all-seasons window glass, the carriage’s occupant calls for him and delivers a heavy box before leaving. Inside, Lewis deals with the aftermath as his apprentice Ivor continues daily craft routines, using memory brooches to preserve recent words. The scene sets a whimsical, magical tone for an emerging quest.","Also by Tom Watts: \nNeighborhood Necromancer Series: \nWelcome to Lightroot Manor (Neighborhood Necromancer Book 1) \nBeers, Bakes, & Bonecrafting (Neighborhood Necromancer Book 2) Tombstones & Tokens (Neighborhood Necromancer Book 3) \nSmall Town Crafter Series: \nThe Artificer ’s Apprentice (Small-Town Crafter Book 1) \nThe Novice Artificer (Small-Town Crafter Book 2) \nThe Initiate Artificer (Small-Town Crafter Book 3) \nThe Adept Artificer (Small-Town Crafter Book 4) \nThe Artificer ’s Abode (Small-Town Crafter Book 5) \nEveryday Enchantments (Small-Town Crafter Book 6) \nSecrets ofthe Smithy (Small-Town Crafter Book 7) \nBlade’s Rest Series (Completed) \nWelcome to Blade’s Rest \nA Home Called Blade’s Rest \nBuilder of Blade’s Rest \nCompletion of Blade’s Rest \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nContents \nChapter 1 \nChapter 2 \nChapter 3 \nChapter 4 \nChapter 5 \nChapter 6 \nChapter 7 \nChapter 8 \nChapter 9 \nChapter 10 \nChapter 11 \nChapter 12 \nChapter 13 \nChapter 14 \nChapter 15 \nChapter 16 \nChapter 17 \nChapter 18 \nChapter 19 \nChapter 20 \nChapter 21 \nChapter 22 \nChapter 23 \nChapter 24 \nChapter 25 \nChapter 26 \nChapter 27 \nChapter 28 \nChapter 29 \nChapter 30 \nChapter 31 \n[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nChapter 1 \nA strange and fancy carriage pulled to a stop outside my store on Coiner ’s Way. That instantly got my attention, because my store was not a place where fancy things often stopped. Strange things, yes, but ‘fancy’ was a word all but banned from the town of Sunhampton. \nI was busy fitting a new store window at the time. It was one of my‘All Seasons’ designs, a special type of glass enchanted with elemental ores, which could change appearance to suit your mood. If it was sunny but you liked reading books by a rainy window, then you could summon raindrops at will. Was it a dreary day, and you fancied some sunlight in your life? Then look no further. Cooper and Cooper – Artificers of Renown had just the thing for you. \nThis glass was special to me because not only was it my own artificeric invention, but I had sold a license for the production of the window to a building company down south, who catered to vampires and other folks who had various sunlight needs. The royalties for this were currently going toward paying off my mortgage on the River Friend, my very own house. So, a mere pane of glass this might be to some, but to me it represented an achievement in my career and stability in my home life, to boot. \n“Steady,” I told Ivor, who was holding the pane in place while I fitted it. We could have done this using our abilities, but this was my own store and I wanted to do it by hand. \n“Would you get your peepers around that?” said Connor Perry, the town postman, pausing his rounds to stand by our store door. \nIvor almost lost his grip on the glass and struggled with it in his bulky arms. I helped him set it down and turned my attention to the sound of wheels thundering over the Coiner ’s Way cobbles. \nThe carriage drew up with everything but fanfare. An expensive, fine-looking thing, with black paneling that gleamed, and golden, ornamental rails that all but shouted, ‘I have lots of gold!’ The wheels were toughened to make easy going of the sometimes rough King’s Roads around Sunhampton. The driver, a suited lady holding the reins of her two horses, didn’t even glance our way. \nSunhamptoners began to gather on the street. They loved that kind of thing. Sunhamptoners were great gatherers, and not the type that literally \nmeant retrieving or collecting things. Instead, they loved to meet in groups and watch whenever anything untoward happened. Across the street, I saw Martha Peters salivating at the idea of the gossip she could later spread. Spruce Wilkinson stood outside the Sunny Café, apron smeared with brown sauce, watching this unfold while his customers waited for their bacon and eggs. \nSince the carriage was right outside my store, I wondered if I might have a new customer","cbCaiaoYadffNTgm","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiaoYadffNTgm","pdf",3385057,6,249,"English","en",105,"# Chapter 1\n## Opening scene: enchanted storefront and carriage arrival\n## Delivery of the box and departure","[{\"question\":\"What event interrupts Lewis Cooper while he works in his shop?\",\"answer\":\"An expensive carriage stops outside his store on Coiner’s Way, causing immediate curiosity from Lewis and the townspeople.\"},{\"question\":\"What special item is Lewis installing when the carriage arrives?\",\"answer\":\"A new store window made from enchanted all-seasons glass that can change appearance to match the mood and weather desired.\"},{\"question\":\"Who addresses Lewis from inside the carriage, and what happens next?\",\"answer\":\"A deep-voiced occupant asks if he is Journeyman Artificer Lewis Cooper, throws a box to him, and then departs with the horses.\"}]","Small Town Crafter -
