However, she encountered a stark reality: a severe shortage of schools for Black children, coupled with a lack of basic resources like desks and writing materials. This disheartening situation instilled fear in Sindiwe, making her doubt her ability to be an effective educator under such constraints. Consequently, she left teaching to work as a domestic helper, taking up employment in four different households. The experiences in these homes were often harsh, with some employers treating her poorly, leading Sindiwe to a state of deep unhappiness. The narrative captures Sindiwe's early life, her aspirations, the societal challenges she faced, and the emotional toll these adversities took on her.
