ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS\n\nLike the previous author,my former colleague John Le Masurier,I make nogreat claim to originality in writing this booklet.Just as he relied on thefirst author of \"Shot Putting\",Geoffrey Dyson,so I have leaned heavilyon them both.I make no apology for doing so but sincerely wish to makeacknowledgements to them both.Techniques have changed little sincethe original booklet, but performances and distances certainly have -ashave training methods, although to a lesser degree. One is hesitant infollowing two such excellent editions, but the passing of time demands itand I am prompted to do so for two reasons. The first is that I followedwith the greatest possible interest the careers of John Savidge and ArthurRowe, who with their coach Geoff Dyson brought British shot puttingfrom obscurity to national prominence throughout the 1950's and early1960's.I havevalued the inspiration and friendship of all three.Second","cbCaieeujH7nxfWy","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaieeujH7nxfWy","pdf",2505500,52,"English","# AUTHOR’S ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS\n# HISTORICAL BACKGROUND\n# CHAPTER 1.
