MicroRNAs linked to tumor initiation and progression are detectable in liquid biopsy specimens and may act as non-invasive biomarkers. This study performed next-generation sequencing to globally profile serum miRNAs from 71 early-stage NSCLC patients and 47 non-cancerous pulmonary condition controls, identifying 28 upregulated miRNAs and implicating them in NSCLC signaling pathways. A gradient-boosting decision tree trained on 2588 miRNAs achieved strong discrimination, further refined by Shapley Additive explanations selecting the top 15 miRNAs, improving model performance. Results support a serum miRNA signature for early NSCLC detection and insight into disease biology, pending validation in larger cohorts.",{"@graph":14,"@context":73},[15,34,56],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/healthcare/","Healthcare",3,{"item":32,"name":10,"@type":21,"position":33},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/serum-insights-leveraging-the-power-of-mirna-profiling-as-an-early-diagnostic-tool-for-non-small-cell-lung-cancer/378357/",4,{"url":32,"name":10,"@type":35,"image":36,"author":41,"headline":10,"publisher":44,"fileFormat":47,"inLanguage":8,"description":12,"dateModified":48,"datePublished":49,"encodingFormat":47,"isAccessibleForFree":50,"interactionStatistic":51},"DigitalDocument",{"url":37,"@type":38,"width":39,"height":40},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/serum-insights-leveraging-the-power-of-mirna-profiling-as-an-early-diagnostic-tool-for-non-small-cell-lung-cancer/378357.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":42,"@type":43},"McGucket","Person",{"url":19,"name":45,"@type":46},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-24","2026-09-24",true,{"@type":52,"interactionType":53,"userInteractionCount":55},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":54},"ViewAction",11,{"@type":57,"mainEntity":58},"FAQPage",[59,65,69],{"name":60,"@type":61,"acceptedAnswer":62},"What Circulating cell-free miRNA has the potential to serve as a biomarker for early detection as it reflects cancer characteristics. Through global miRNA profiling in serum samples from NSCLC patients and noncancerous individuals, we identified 28 upregulated miRNAs in NSCLC and explored their relevance to NSCLC-rela","cbCaidtPG24fqoGs","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaidtPG24fqoGs","pdf",3671767,25,"English","# Simple Summary\n# Abstract\n# Citation and Publication Details\n# Methods and Main Findings","[{\"question\":\"What biomarker approach does the study investigate for early NSCLC detection?\",\"answer\":\"The study investigates circulating cell-free serum microRNAs as a potential non-invasive biomarker, using global miRNA profiling to derive a diagnostic signature.\"},{\"question\":\"How were miRNAs profiled and how many samples were used?\",\"answer\":\"Next-generation sequencing was used to globally profile miRNAs in serum from 71 early-stage NSCLC patients and 47 non-cancerous pulmonary condition patients.\"},{\"question\":\"What machine-learning method was used to classify NSCLC versus non-cancer cases?\",\"answer\":\"A gradient-boosting decision tree classifier was developed to distinguish NSCLC from non-cancerous individuals using a large miRNA feature set.\"}]","Serum Insights - Leveraging the Power of miRNA Profiling as an Early Diagnostic Tool for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer | PDF",1790229637,63]
