The bases are of four or six inch diameter and have five terminals. Detectors are polarity insensitive, so that identification of positive and negative lines is only required if a remote LED is fitted. Detectors fit into bases oneway only and require clockwise rotation without push force tobe plugged in, particularly useful when fitting to suspended ceilings. They can be locked into the base by a grub screw using a 1/16” hexagonal driver. \nAn earth connection is not required for either safety or correct operation of detectors. The earth terminal is provided for tidy termination of earthed conductors or cable screens and to maintain earth continuity where necessary. \nBases have a wide interior diameter for ease of access to cables and terminals and there are two slots for fixing screws at a spacing of 2.01 inches (51 mm) to 2.72 inches (69 mm) . \n\n| Series 65A Base wiring diagrams | | | | |\n| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |\n| | | | | |\n| (a) Common Remote (b) Standard Remote | | | | |\n| | | Remote LED | | |\n\n• Two-wire base \n\n| • Detector locking mechanism |\n| --- |\n| • One way fit |\n| • Easy to wire |\n| • Contains a ground wire terminal |\n| • Contains no electric parts |\n\n36 Brookside Road, Havant Hampshire, PO9 1JR, UK. \nTel: +44 (0)23 9249 2412 \nFax: +44 (0)23 9249 2754 \nEmail: sales@apollo-fi[re.com](re.com) \nWeb: www. apollo-fi[re.co.uk](re.co.uk) \nAll information in this document is given in good faith but Apollo Fire Detectors Ltd cannot be held responsible for any omissions or errors.
