There’s a productive, engaged and happy buzz about the school as students and staff get reacquainted and dig into the curriculum for this year.
There are great opportunities for students to get involved, take on leadership roles and show their school spirit are popping up! Many of our intermediate students are lunch monitors and have begun leading line-dancing during recess breaks. Grades 3 to 8 students have been invited to join the Cross County and the Intermediate Choir started up this week. Our Me to We club are headed into Toronto in a couple of weeks to take part in WE Day—we know they will come back inspired, empowered and community minded!
Please join us on September 12th from 6 to 7:30PM for our annual Curriculum Night. Families are invited to drop by and visit classrooms, meet teachers, learn about this years’ curriculum and see our newly renovated spaces.
Thank you to those who have adapted so quickly to our new parking lot and Kiss and Drop Lane routines. Traffic has been flowing smoothly. More fencing in the front lot and additional signage is on it’s way to help keep us all on track.
Please remember:
• The front parking lot is reserved for families, visitors and guest staff
• The back parking lot is reserved for staff only—this lot is not supervised
• When using the Kiss and Drop loop, please drop students at the sidewalk along the west only. Please pick them up along the sidewalk at the end of the day.
• Do not drop students at any other point in the loop
Thanks again for your cooperation in following these guidelines. The safety of all our students and members of Fairman community is a top priority.
Yours in Education, Ms. Baggesen
P A G E 2
| | |
| --- | --- |
| |
! Allergy Alert–Peanuts and Tree Nuts !
We have students at E.A. Fairman PS, who have severe, life-threatening allergies to tree nuts and peanuts. Exposure could mean the use of an epi-pen anda trip to the hospital. With anaphylaxis, even exposure to a tiny amount of this item could be potentially serious and life threatening. Staff, students and parents play an important role in preventing such dangerous and frightening situations at school.
We have informed the students and have asked them not to share their lunches, snacks or treats. Parents, we need your cooperation in checking the list of ingredients on items you send to school and refraining from sending products or items containing any nuts. Please contact your child’s teacher for more information regarding bringing in treats for the class.
Please note…
Please refrain from sending soy bean butter and other similar peanut-free spreads, like Wow Butter, to school. It is difficult if not impossible, to distinguish these products from real peanut butter which makes it difficult for school staff to control for a ‘nut safe’ environment.
If you are the parent of a child with a life-threatening allergy, we need your cooperation in providing the school with current medical information and assistance in developing a plan to protect your child’s health. Required medical forms can be obtained from the office. Once we receive this information, the plan along with your child’s picture will be posted |

If you would like further information about our allergy policies and practices, please call the school.
