Support………………....…..page 68  \nPRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE  \nThe Senior Years at Foster Secondary College are crucial in linking students to post-compulsory education and career opportunities for their future.  \nFoster SC offers a broad program designed to maximise the potential and opportunity that all of our students have, both those wishing to pursue a university study and those choosing TAFE or industry training as their pathway.  \nIn our Year 9 Program, students have been provided with a framework that celebrates difference and embraces individuality and creativity, while maintaining a focus on academic growth. The students enter Year 10 having experienced a real connection with the school and local and global communities.  \nOur Year 10 program is focussed on preparation for the demands of VCE, while also opening up access to VET subjects for interested students. Some Year 10 students who have achieved excellence in Year 9 are allowed to accelerate into a VCE Unit 1 subject. For the first time in 2023, students will choose their own level of Maths – 10 Maths Methods (Accelerated Group) and 10 General Maths (Standard Level) . Students also choose their elective subjects to provide student choice and improve engagement. The electives come from Science, Humanities, Arts, Technology, PE & Health. Students will need to choose at least one of each of these to maintain the breadth of their choices in VCE.  \nOur Year 11 & 12 students have access to a broad range of VCE Units, a selection of VET courses, the new VCE Vocational Method pathway.
