SEASONS\n\nA Collection of PoemsBy Win Marks \nSEASONS \nA Collection of PoemsBy Win Marks \nSEASONS \nAlexandra Yep did the cover art.It looks good.Thank you,Alex. \nFor Mom and Dad,This is a Lanyard I made for you. \nFor God, \nSeeing as this desire is a gifi,I offerevery branch, leaf, and fruit thatstems from the tree of literary loveback to The One who planted it.Ifthe tree should continue to grow andbranches continue to expand let it beonly so God may enjoy sweeter fruitand cooler shade. If the tree shouldnot live through its first winter,I willconsider it joy that the Father evenplanted this seed and that the soil ofmy soul has been displaced by thehands ofGod.May 16ᵗ2016 \nSEASONS \nThis is the introduction andkind of explains the book. \nMom and Dad, \nI wrote this book for a few reasons all of which comeback to you two.Remember the summer I was homefrom college and we started to get to know each othera lot better? This book was born at the same time andout of the same desire:I want to get to know you twobetter. We know each other really well, you both havedone a great job of growing our family's relationships, but people are complex and always changing so we cango deeper.Another reason is I will never be able torepay you for all the ways you have cared for me overthe years. You let me be myself and figure out who Iam at a time in history where most people try to besomething they are not and in a culture where mostparents put pressure on their children to‘succeed'and'make something of themselves,'whatever that means.I was born into our family, into your care, which I hadno control over and that makes me the luckiest personin the world. \nMom,you told me before I went into high school“Things don't have to be not cool.”Which I thoughtwas weird at first but now are words I live by.What is'cool'or ‘interesting'is all relative and usually dictatedby societal pressure.I can see the beauty in paintballand poetry, wine and whiskey, fishing and flowers andso many other things because you lifted any restriction \nSEASONS \nthis world had put on me to do so.I cannot imaginemissing out on the miracles and intricacies of this lifeand God’s character if you had never shown me howto appreciate them or Him.I have yet to find yourdesire to know God better,to be more like Him,andto love other people in anyone else I have met.It issomething I took for granted when I lived at homebecause I thought it was normal. Now I can begin tosee how unique it is and how much of a blessing it wasto live under for so long. \nDad,I have attempted my entire life to mirror yourpeace, patience, and strength.Masculinity today seemsto be aggressive, short tempered and non-reflective ofChrist. At every turn in this life I find childrenclaiming to be men who are constantly trying tovalidate their masculinity by being stubborn, angry, and stuck in their ways.I can hear you now afier \ngetting cut off on the highway saying'What am I goingto do about it now?Get mad? That is not going tosolve anything.'So many people would yell, get angry,or even confront the other driver about it.And theywould tell you that if you did not do anything, youwere weak. But you understand The Gospel to thedegree that if someone wrongs you know it is yours totake and not reciprocale because that is what Jesus didfor all of us.A foundational Gospel truth that is soincredibly rare today.I will constantly, for the rest ofmy life,be trying to be more like you because besidesthe man himself, you are the best image of Christ Ihave ever seen. \nSEASONS \nAlong this journey to figure out who I am and where Ifit in to God’s grand plan and what he is doing onearth, you two have always been a constant.A solidfoundation to stand on.A warm meal to come hometo.A dance partner.A fellow golfer.I love both of youdearly and like I wrote, will never be able to repay youfor what you have given me and given away for me.This is just my first of many attempts to show you howmuch I appreciate you and your love. \nThe book is set up in ","cbCaiqFyR32XJLBw","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiqFyR32XJLBw","pdf",2272277,84,"English","# SEASONS\n## Dedication\n## Introduction\n## Fall\n##
