Although much of the information for the ACT and SAT exams is the same, the Bishop Dwenger SAT/ACT course thoroughly addresses the differences between the two tests in order to provide the best preparation for students taking either or both tests.  \nOur SAT/ACT course also has the following advantages:  \n1. Mrs. Brady and Mrs. McTague have decades of experience with remedial to honors/AP students.  \n2. Class time is devoted to review of relevant material and strategies to approach and succeed in answering standardized test questions.  \n3. The course is priced well below other preparatory programs.  \n4. Assistance is available even after the course is completed.  \nThe course includes 14 sessions designated to help the students do their best on SAT/ACT exams. Tuesdays are for math and science, while Thursdays are for critical reading, grammar, and writing. We will be using two texts: the most current edition of Barron’s SAT preparation guide and The Barron’s ACT preparation guide.  \nClasses meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. starting September 20, 2022 and ending Thursday, November 3, 2022. Students will be given weekly assignments andwill need to bring a notebook and pencil or pen to every class. Since spots are reserved at registration, any withdrawals from September 20, 2022 to September 22, 2022 will be subject toa 50% penalty. No refunds after the first week of class. Please note: In the case of inclement weather, please check the BD website for information about the class. Any sessions which are unable to meet will be rescheduled.  \nThe cost for the class is $225 .00, which includes both preparation books. The attached link will take you to the registration form and payment page.  \nSAT testing dates for this school year are: November 5, 2022, December 3, 2022, and March 11, 2023.  \nACT testing dates for this school year are: December 10, 2022, February 11, 2023, and April 15, 2023.  \nWhile there is no guarantee that students will achieve a particular score, this course will develop  \ntest familiarity and pacing, effective test strategies for specific question types, and a comprehensive review of necessary math, science, and English basic skills. Attendance and the completion of homework is extremely important.
