To be eligible, you must meet at least 1 of the qualifications below:  \ny You’re enrolled in or eligible to participate in the federal National School Lunch Program (NSLP) .  \ny Your annual family income falls within the Income Eligibility Guidelines set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service. See fn[s.usda.gov](s.usda.gov) for details.  \ny You’re enrolled in a federal, state, or local program that aids students from economically marginalized families (e.g., TRIO programs like Upward Bound) .  \ny Your family receives public assistance.  \ny You’re unhoused or reside in federally subsidized public housing or a foster home.  \ny You’re a ward of the state or an orphan.  \nBenefits of the SAT Fee Waiver Service  \nFee waivers cover more than just the testing fees.  \nEligible students can use an SAT fee waiver to cover:  \n1. Up to 2 registration fees for SAT Weekend. You need tobe in 11th or 12th grade to use a fee waiver for the SAT.  \n2. Unlimited score reports, which you can order anytime after registering for the test or taking the SAT in school on a school day, including after you’ve seen your scores.  \n3. Waived application fees at participating colleges, as explained later in this brochure.  \n4. Free CSS Profile® applications to apply online for financial aid from participating schools. Waived late registration fee.  \n7. Waived cancellation fee If you cancel your registration, your unused fee waiver benefits will be restored.  \nHow to Get a Fee Waiver  \nYou can access fee waivers in 2 ways:  \n1. See your school counselor to get a fee waiver code. Once your counselor determines that you’re eligible, they will share a fee waiver code with you to register for an SAT Weekend test and access your other benefits. If you’re a homeschooled student, you’ll need to provide proof of eligibility (tax records, public assistance records, or record of enrollment in an aid program) to a highschool counselor in your area.  \nFee waiver codes will be updated on Aug. 13, 2026. After that, you will need to get a new fee waiver code from your counselor or complete the online SAT Fee Waiver Request form to register and access benefits. If you have already used your code before Aug. 13, 2026 your benefits will remain in your account until you are ready to use them.  \n2.
