About the SAT Reading Section \n➔ \n➔ \nLogistics and Types of Content \nProcess of Elimination Guidelines \nSAT Digital Test \n➔ The digital SAT is now 2 hours 14 minutes, shorter than the previous 3-hour version. \n◆ Reading & Writing section: \n● 54 questions \n● All questions are four-option multiple-choice \n● Across 2 adaptive modules, 32 minutes each \n○ Module 1 (“routing module”): 25 scored + 2 unscored pretest questions, with a mix of easy, medium, and hard items \n○ Module 2: 25 scored + 2 unscored pretest questions; difficulty depends on performance in Module 1. Easier Module \n2 limits the maximum possible score, while harder Module 2 sets a minimum and allows a chance at a perfect score \n● Unscored Questions: Appear in both modules to help develop future tests; students should answer all questions as if scored, since they cannot be identified \n➔ There are no penalties for wrong answers, so process of elimination can be used to narrow down the answer choices. \n➔ Passages range from 25–150 words and span 9th-grade to first-year college reading level, covering literature, history/social studies, humanities, and science. \n➔ [https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/digital/digital-practice-preparation](https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/digital/digital-practice-preparation is the official)[ is the official](https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/digital/digital-practice-preparation is the official)[ ](https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/digital/digital-practice-preparation is the official)digital practice test \n➔ The SAT is delivered on Bluebook. We suggest downloading the app to better guide students. Here’s a video tutorial of Bluebook \nProcess of Elimination Guidelines \n➔ Underline the verb in the question to help eliminate answer choices: for example, if the question says “the author will most likely agree with the following statements” there are likely one or more answer options that can immediately be identified as a statement that the author disagrees with. \n➔ There are normally 2 answer choices that can easily be identified as incorrect. Cross these answers out as soon as you find them, and you can now focus on the other two answer choices. \n➔ Very extreme answer choices will likely be incorrect. Word choice can also help you determine if the answer choice is too extreme. For example, if an answer choice that says “the author vehemently denies” is much more extreme than the answer choice that says “the author disagrees.” \n➔ After eliminating 2 answer choices, you will likely be left with two fairly similar answer choices. If you are struggling to determine the better answer, identify the difference between the two options. That difference, even if it is subtle, can help you figure out which is the better answer. \n2. Strategies Before the Test \n➔ General Standardized Test Taking Strategies \nGeneral Standardized Test Taking Strategies \n➔ If you struggle to understand a passage on the first read, try briefly skimming the questions related to the passage before reading. This can help focus your attention on what to look for, but you should not jump only to the lines referenced in a question. Answers depend on understanding the full context, so students should read the entire paragraph. \n◆ For example, if a question refers to lines 5–14, it’s important to read those lines","cbCaicb7IWDL8bhN","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaicb7IWDL8bhN","pdf",471541,26,"English","# About the SAT Reading Section\n## Strategies Before the Test\n## Strategies During the Test\n## Strategies for Each Question Category\n### Transitions\n### Rhetorical Synthesis\n### Explicit Information vs. Implicit Information\n### Point of View\n### Citing Evidence\n### Main Idea and Summarizing\n### Overall Structure of Passage\n### Word choice and word context\n### Graphs and Data/Analyzing Quantitative Information\n### Purpose of Text and Part-Whole Relationships\n### Analyzing arguments\n### Connecting multiple texts\n### History/Social Science passages\n### Science passages\n# SAT Digital Test\n## Logistics and Types of Content\n## Process of Elimination Guidelines","[{\"question\":\"How is the SAT Digital Reading \\u0026 Writing section structured in the digital test?\",\"answer\":\"The SAT digital test is 2 hours 14 minutes.
