Many schools have become“test optional,”which means a college admissions test score is no longer required for admission. Please read through the guidance below to help direct you on the next steps as you head into your senior year. Also, please understand that this guidance is subject to change based on changes with state and national guidance, university admissions decisions, and corporate policies. \nWhat is the ACT/SAT? \n● The ACT and SAT are college admissions tests. Colleges typically use the score earned on the ACT and/or SAT as part of their admission process. You can Google colleges to look for the average ACT and SAT test score needed for admission. \nWhat is the difference between ACT and SAT? \n● [https://blog.prepscholar.com/act-vs-sat](https://blog.prepscholar.com/act-vs-sat) \nHow has registration changed due to Covid-19? \n● Juniors typically take the SAT in the EVSC in the spring, and the cost of the exam is covered by EVSC. Due to the Covid-19, the EVSC did not offer the “School Day SAT”last year. Several EVSC schools will be test sites for Saturday testing. Students who have not already tested will need to register and pay for these tests on their own. \nCollege Admissions and ACT/SAT \n● Some colleges and universities are choosing a “test optional” admissions policy. Students will need to check with the schools they plan to apply for in the fall to determine if the ACT or SAT is needed for admission. Colleges that utilize “test optional” typically require a more involved essay in the admission requirements. \n● Use this link to check a current list of test optional schools for 2022-23: \n[https://thecollegecurators.com/test-optional-colleges-for-2022-2023/](https://thecollegecurators.com/test-optional-colleges-for-2022-2023/) \n􀁸 Having a good SAT or ACT may help with scholarship selection even if colleges don’t require a test for admission. Furthermore, some may require a score for admission to certain programs (i.e. IU Kelley School of Business) \nShould I send my test scores? \n● When registering, you should select colleges that you think you would like to attend and send your test scores. Many schools will require test scores directly from the testing agency. If you have to send scores after the test there will be a fee assessed. \n● College bound athletes must send their scores to the NCAA eligibility center and/or the NAIA center. NCAA code 9999 NAIA code is 9876 \nHow do I register for the SAT or ACT? \n● Students must register online at the following websites: \n[o](o SAT: www.collegeboard.org)[ SAT:](o SAT: www.collegeboard.org)[ ](o SAT: www.collegeboard.org)[www.collegeboard.org](o SAT: www.collegeboard.org) \n[o](o ACT: www.actstudent.org)[ ACT:](o ACT: www.actstudent.org)[ ](o ACT: www.actstudent.org)[www.actstudent.org](o ACT: www.actstudent.org) \n● Students will need their High School Code.
