They noted the limited financial resources available to STP, despite a significant development agenda, and the need to carefully design a comprehensive yet concentrated program of engagements across the WBG.  \nDirectors noted that the WBG’s engagement in STP demonstrates World Bank value-added and comparative advantage in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Small States while contributing to the implementation of the Bank’s new vision.  \nRecognizing the country’s climate challenges, Directors urged the WBG to support adaptation and mitigation measures, while adopting a greener energy generation path. They inquired about the plan for the CCDR and how to support the country to enhance early warning and harness the crisis response toolkit in the event of future natural disasters.  \nDirectors took note of the fiscal risks faced by STP and appreciated WBG’s recent Development Policy Operation in helping the country implement critical reforms. They encouraged Management to expand efforts in strengthening public sector performance and accountability. They supported the strong focus on the energy sector, underscoring the importance of supporting the country to close the financing gap and accelerate the transition towards clean and affordable energy.  \nDirectors emphasized the need for IFC and MIGA to step up their engagement to strengthen the private sector in STP—as a provider of jobs and economic opportunities—and attract foreign investment within an economy that is dominated by the public sector.
