He is considered one of the greatest African footballers of all time. He was a fast, energetic forward, who was known for his stamina, and his accuracy in shooting at goal. \nAt age 11 Eto’o went to the Kadji Sports Academy in Douala, and then played for UCB Douala. He first played for Cameroon in 1997, one day before his 16th birthday. \nIn 2000 while playing for Cameroon during the African Cup of Nations Eto’o scored four times, including an important goal in the Lions’victory over Nigeria in the Final. His impressive play continued at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, where Cameroon defeated Spain in the final to win its first Olympic gold medal. \nEto’o then helped the Cameroon Lions to win another Africa Cup of Nations in 2002. \nIn 2004 Eto’o joined Barcelona, a top European team, and scored over 100 goals in five seasons. \nOne of the greatest possible achievements for any football club is to try and win three major championships in the same year. Samuel Eto’o helped his team, Barcelona, to do this in 2009 by winning the Spanish First Division title, Spain’s major domestic cup, and the European Champions League. \nThis huge achievement was then repeated the following year in 2010 when Eto’o changed teams and also helped his new team, Inter Milan, win the two Italian trophies and the European Champions League all in the same year. \nHe won the African Player of the Year award in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2010. \nEto’o has always proudly represented and eventually captained the Cameroon nationalteam.","cbCainVLNhZ2v3KX","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCainVLNhZ2v3KX","pdf",458249,18,"English","en",105,"# Samuel Eto’o\n## Early life and debut\n## Major tournament achievements\n## Club success
