Saint John Paul II Academy provides a rigorous academic curriculum designed to prepare students for success in college in the 21st century. The faith-based learning community fosters excellence in all programs and enables the spiritual, academic, artistic, and physical development of each student. Dedicated faculty and staff instill the Gospel values of tolerance, sensitivity, concern for the poor, justice, peace, and responsibility while welcoming students of all beliefs and backgrounds. \nCORE VALUES \nSaint John Paul II Academy places great emphasis on these three core values: \nRESPECT RIGOR \nRESPONSIBILITY \nINTRODUCTION \nThis booklet includes course descriptions, graduation requirements, courses of study, and other information to assist students and parents in choosing appropriate classes. \nStudents and parents should carefully consider course selections, including alternate courses, as this information helps build the master schedule of classes. The availability of electives is subject to sufficient enrollment, and some courses listed may not be offered. \nPlease note that placement in Intensive Reading I, Foundational Skills in Mathematics, Honors/Advanced Placement level, and Dual Enrollment is based upon careful consideration of the individual student’s academic record. This includes analysis of test scores, recommendations of faculty, department chairpersons and school counselors and is subject to final approval by the Assistant Principal and Principal. Other approved adjustments may occur at the beginning of the school year. \nThere are three school counselors assigned to students in grades 9-12, arranged alphabetically by student’s lastname. The 2024-2025 counselor assignments are: Mrs. Fenton Gr. 9 (all), Mr. George Gr. 10-12 (A-K), and Mrs. Mattox Gr. 10-12 (L-Z) . Students may make appointments with their counselors to answer any questions regarding this booklet via email or phone. \nThe graduation requirements at Saint John Paul II Academy are similar to those required for entrance to most four-year colleges based upon prerequisites for a diploma in the State of Florida. Senior students are encouraged to take the fourth year of science or an additional year of a world language as elective choices. A final semester grade of “B” is the preferred minimum standard of achievement for college entrance and scholarships. \nCONTACT INFORMATION \nADMINISTRATIVE TEAM \nPresident: Dan Aubin – [daubin@sjpii.net](daubin@sjpii.net) \nPrincipal: Edward Bernot – [ebernot@sjpii.net](ebernot@sjpii.net) \nAssistant Principal: Marian Demarest – [mdemarest@sjpii.net](mdemarest@sjpii.net) \nAssistant Principal: Patrick Coyle – [pcoyle@sjpii.net](pcoyle@sjpii.net) \nAssistant Principal: Sabrina Rezende – [srezende@sjpii.ne](srezende@sjpii.ne) \nSCHOOL COUNSELING AND ACADEMIC ADVISING \nCounselor, Gr. 12: Mark George – [mgeorge@sjpii.net](mgeorge@sjpii.net) (Director of Counseling) \nCounselor, Gr 9-11: A-K Catherine Fenton – [cfenton@sjpii.net](cfenton@sjpii.net) \nCounselor, Gr. 9-11 L-Z: Susan Mattox – [smattox@sjpii.net](smattox@sjpii.net) \nLearning Specialist: Stacie LoPinto – [slopinto@sjpii.net](slopinto@sjpii.net) \nAdministrative Assistant: Eileen Cassidy – [ecassidy@sjpii.net](ecassidy@sjpii.net) \nRegistrar: Lourdes Latour`-[llatour@sjpii.net](llatour@sjpii.net) \nTABLE OF CONTENTS \nGENERAL INFORMATION......................................................................................................................... 5 \nGRADUATION RE","cbCaighDf9FtbLz2","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaighDf9FtbLz2","pdf",1510103,53,"English","# Mission Statement\n# Core Values\n# Introduction\n# Contact Information\n## Administrative Team\n## School Counseling and Academic Advising\n# Table of Contents\n## General Information\n## Graduation Requirements\n## Planning a Pathway to College\n## Advanced Courses\n## Elective Course Offerings\n## College & Career Tracks\n## Course Catalog Navigation\n## English Department\n## Business and Computer Science Department\n## Fine and Performing Arts Department\n## Mathematics Department\n## Physical Education Department\n## Science Department\n## Social Studies Department\n## Theology Department\n## World Languages Department","[{\"question\":\"What does the 2024–2025 course catalogue help students and parents do?\",\"answer\":\"It provides course descriptions, graduation requirements, and other guidance to help students and parents choose appropriate classes and plan schedules.\"},{\"question\":\"How is placement determined for Intensive Reading I, Foundational Skills in Mathematics, Honors/AP, and Dual Enrollment?\",\"answer\":\"Placement is based on careful review of the student’s academic record, including test scores, recommendations, and is subject to final approval by the Assistant Principal and Principal.\"},{\"question\":\"What affects whether elective courses are offered?\",\"answer\":\"Elective availability depends on sufficient enrollment, and some listed courses may not be offered.\"}]","Saint John Paul II Academy 2024-2025 Course Catalogue | PDF",134]
