Sadly, this shooting happened at a time when Council was celebrating the remarkable contribution of educators in the performance of learners, following the release of the matric results.  \nOur educators are our valued national builders and enablers of teaching and learning. Therefore, Council appeals to the entire relevant security cluster in government to combine all its resources in bringing the perpetrator to book. This is important for the deceased educator’s family, school, community, and Council. The safety and security of educators is important to us because their constitutional right to life matter.  \nSACE will be visiting the school and family for support.
