It’s the ability to hear individual sounds in words . When learners can hear each sound, they are better able to isolate sounds, separate sounds, and blend sounds.  \nThese S-Blends cards come from my Beginning Sounds Phonemic Awareness Cards, which can be found at MY SHOP & my TPT STORE!  \nRead more about these cards @  \nTHIS READING MAMA  \n* For each card, encourage learners to listen for and tell you the beginning sounds they hear. While it doesn’t hurt to also tell the letter names, letter sounds are what we’re after with phonemic awareness .  \n* To print answer keys on the back of each card, be sure to open the file with  \nthe free, updated Adobe Reader . Once open, click “print on both sides of paper”, making sure you click “flip on the long edge .” If you miss this step, the answers will be upside down.  \nTerms of Use: This printable pack was created for you to use at home with your child/students or with multiple children in your classroom or tutoring setting.
