There was food in Moab, so Elimelech took his family to live there. Moab was a nearby country where the people worshiped idols. \nRuth 1:1-2; Background info \nWhile they lived there, Elimelech died. Naomi stayed in Moab with her two sons and did not marry anyone else. \nRuth 1:3 \nNaomi’s sons married women from Moab. Their names were Orpah and Ruth. \nRuth 1:4 \nAfter ten years in Moab, Naomi’s two sons also died. So Naomi was alone with no husband and no sons. \nRuth 1:4-5 \nWhen Naomi heard that the Lord had blessed Israel with good crops, she decided to return home. She and her daughters-in-law started to travel back to Bethlehem. \nRuth 1:6","cbCaiuxeaB53aoFi","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiuxeaB53aoFi","pdf",14197311,53,"English","# The Story of Ruth\n## Departure to Moab\n## Tragedy and Bereavement\n## The Journey Home","[{\"question\":\"Why did Elimelech take his family to Moab?\",\"answer\":\"He moved his family to Moab because there was a severe famine in the land of Israel and they were seeking food.\"},{\"question\":\"Who were the daughters-in-law of Naomi?\",\"answer\":\"Naomi's daughters-in-law were Moabite women named Orpah and Ruth.\"},{\"question\":\"Why did Naomi decide to return to Bethlehem?\",\"answer\":\"Naomi decided to return home after she heard that the Lord had blessed Israel with good crops.\"}]","Ruth 1-4 - Biblical Narrative | PDF",1789645222,134]
