Creative Commons License |

System Summary
This game is about players telling a shared story about new adventurers from an Adventuring Academy. The characters explore a world described by the GM and face encounters in a point-crawl style campaign.
Characters can be inspired by systems such as D& D 5e , D& D 3.5e , Pathfinder 1e , Pathfinder 2e , or the Young Adventurer ’s Guide books. Players can also create their own versions of ancestries , backgrounds , classes , and archetypes.
The main mechanic is a d20 roll-over check. Advantage and disadvantage are the main ways rolls are modified , and results can be judged against either a difficulty number or a scaled outcome table.
The six standard ability scores are used in a simplified way, with advantage or disadvantage acting as the main modifier. The game supports both lethal and non-lethal combat.
Hit Points measure a character ’s short-term health and stamina , and they are also spent to power some actions and abilities.
Player characters can advance from 1st level to a maximum of 20th level , usually by reaching milestones set by the GM.
Each round , a character normally gets one action and one movement. Players usually act before enemies. Turn order matters less than in many other games , because most combatants are assumed to complete what they are doing during the round even if they are taken out before the next one.
Combat uses a single d20 attack roll that combines accuracy and damage. A natural 20 is a critical success , and a natural 1 is a critical failure.
Many abilities cost Hit Points to use and also require a roll to see how well they work.
All player characters have access to a basic healing ability.
Combat does not usually end in death. Other common outcomes include fleeing , negotiating , surrendering , being robbed , or paying a ransom to avoid a worse fate.

| Character Creation Summary |
| --- |
| Basic Character Sheet |

| RUSSWATER ADVENTURER CHARACTER SHEET |
| --- |
|

Appearance:
Ability Scores with Advantage (or Disadvantage) : STR [ ] • DEX [ ] • CON [ ] • INT [ ] • WIS [ ] • CHA [ ]

LVL : 1

Abilities & Inscriptions :
__________________________________________________________________

Equipment & Treasure:
__________________________________________________________________ |

| Core Mechanics |
| --- |
| Similar Concepts, Different Execution |
| This ruleset borrows ideas from other RPG systems , but it does not use them in exactly the same way.
