You must keep the copyright and credits for authors, illustrators, etc.  \nBiblical Background to Water Safety Planning in Creation Care and Climate Resilience  \nGod has given us water for life  \nIn the beginning, God created the earth and all that lives within it. He then formed man and placed him in the Garden of Eden, entrusting him with the care and guardianship of His creation. Adam was given the duty to tend to the garden, and as his descendants, we share in that divine responsibility. We've been called to nurture and protect what God has made, so that future generations can continue to benefit from and carry on our stewardship.  \nThe second thing that God created was water.“Then God said,“Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.” And that is what happened. God made this space to separate the waters of the earth from the waters of the heavens. God called the space “sky.” And evening passed and morning came, marking the second day.”(Genesis 1:6-8 NLT) .  \nAfter this, He created the solid ground, the plants, animals and other things.  \nGod created all these good things, before He finally made man in His own image on the sixth day. Why did He do that? Because He knew that we would need these resources to survive on earth.  \nWater is very important to our survival and sustenance. Even, Jesus compared His Word to water.“Jesus replied,“Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”(John 4:13-14 NLT) .  \nAnd then in John 6, Jesus described His Word as Life.“The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life”(John 6:63 NLT) .  \nGod has given us water for life  \nJesus uses water as a powerful symbol to show just how essential His Word is. Just as water sustains our bodies, His Word nourishes our souls, bringing salvation and spiritual vitality. The physical water that God provides keeps us alive in the natural world, while His Word gives us true life in the spiritual realm.  \nWater is essential to life. The human body is composed of about 50 to 70 percent water, with the typical adult averaging about 60 percent by weight. If we faithfully follow God's instruction to care for the earth and the resources He’s provided to sustain us, we nurture not only the environment but also our own well-being. Good stewardship over creation leads to health, vitality, and longevity.  \nWe are stewards over creation (life). Everything that God created on earth is life. The trees, birds, animals, food plants, insects and the rest all have life. They all contain water. They all need water to survive just as we do. There will be no life without water.  \nGod promises to bless us if we honor His command to care for the world He has made and preserve life on earth. Jesus illustrated this principle in the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14–30) . He talked about how the master rewarded the servants who carefully managed theresources entrusted to them. Likewise, when we protect vital resources like water, we fulfill our divine duty, to nurture creation and life itself  \nThe purpose of a water safety plan is to unite us as God’s children to use the gifts He’s entrusted to each of us to safeguard our water resources.
