If you don’t hear the system turn on within 5 minutes, the power is off. \nNote: If you have a digital thermostat that has a blank display, skip this step. \nRemove the old thermostat’s faceplate. \nOn most thermostats, you can takeoff the faceplate by grasping and gently pulling. Some thermostats may have screws, buttons, or clasps. \nDo not remove any wires from your thermostat at this time! \nMake sure there are no 120/240V wires. \nDo you have thick black wires with wire nuts? \nIs your thermostat 120V or higher? \nIf you answered yes to either of these questions, you have a line voltage system and the thermostat will not work. \n75 \nWire nut \nThick black wire \n5 Take a picture of how your wiring looks right now. \nBe sure to include the letters next to the terminals where the wires are inserted. This will be a helpful reference when wiring your thermostat. \nTip: If the color of your wires has faded or if 2 terminals have the same wire color, use the wire labels provided in the package to label each wire. \n6 Remove any jumpers. \nA jumper connects one terminal to another terminal. It may look like a small staple or even a colored wire and must be removed before continuing. Use a screwdriver to release wires from terminals. \nThe RTH6360 thermostat does not need jumpers. \nRTH6360 Series \nExample of a jumper \nTerminals \n7 Record if you have wires in the following terminals. \nDo not include jumpers as a part of your count. The thermostat does not need jumpers. \nTerminal Wire Color \n8 Write down the color of the wires. \nCheck mark the wires that are connected to terminals. Next to the check mark, write down the color of the wire. Do not include jumpers as a part of your count. \nCheck all that apply (Not all will apply): \nTerminal Wire Color Terminal Wire Color \n Y A or L/A \nThe RTH6360 thermostat does not support L/A, S, or U terminals. Then, use a wire label to identify each wire as it’s disconnected. The letter on the wire label should match the letter on the terminal. \nTip: To prevent wires from falling back into the wall, wrap the wires around a pencil. \nInstalling your RTH6360 thermostat \nRTH6360 Thermostat \nUWP Mounting System \n10 Bundle and insert wires through the UWP. \nPull open the UWP and insert the bundle of wires through the back of the UWP. \nMake sure at least 1/4-inch of each wire is exposed for easy insertion into the wire terminals. \n11 Insert the wall anchors. \nIt is recommended that you use the wall anchors included in the box to mount your thermostat. \nYou can use the UWP to mark where you want to place the wall anchors. \na) Level the wall plate. \nb) Mark the location of the wall anchors using a pencil. \nc) Drill the holes. \nd) Insert wall anchors. \ne) Make sure anchors are flush with w","cbCaiaJQL6GlVF74","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiaJQL6GlVF74","pdf",5792929,"English","# Removing your old thermostat\n## Turn power OFF and verify system status\n## Document wiring and remove the old faceplate\n# Installing your RTH6360 thermostat\n## Bundle wires and insert through UWP\n## Install wall anchors and level the plate\n## Set R-switch and connect wires\n## Mount UWP, install batteries, and attach thermostat\n# Power ON and set date/time","[{\"question\":\"How do you ensure safety before removing an old thermostat?\",\"answer\":\"Turn power OFF at the breaker box or the switch that controls the heating/cooling system, and confirm the system is off.
