Kama’s fire offering flares then fails, while Lani’s earth connection yields only a withering sprout and Meha struggles to draw a true wave guided by Namea. As a mysterious purple glow pulses offshore, accusations erupt over wasted water, ruined crops, and claims of taking too much land. The growing conflict threatens the island’s harmony and tests their emerging powers.","Roots Are Stronger Than Steel \nAlbert Rolls \nTiana Elijah \nIt was the day of the Harmony Tide Festival on Tadra Island. Children ran between colourful stalls while the three peoples of the mystical isle shared songs, dances, and stories by the shimmering sea . \n”Today, our young ones will show us \ntheir emerging talents,” announced Chief Moce with a kind smile.”As they have for generations, may they honor the sacred bonds between the Volcano Keepers, the Root Tenders, and the Wave Callers that sustain our island.” \nKama stepped forward, his skin beginning to shimmer with glowing tatau patterns. ”I honour Akama, Great Spirit of Fire!” he shouted with his hands raised toward the distant mountain where his people made daily offerings. \nBut when he spun to send flames spiraling into the sky, they burned too brightly before suddenly dying out. The elders exchanged worried glances. \nNext came Lani from the Root Tenders, clutching her family’s massive warclub wrapped in sacred vines.”Blessed Paokera of the Deep Earth,” she whispered, kneeling to touch the ground as her people did each morning. \nA tiny flower sprouted but quickly wilted without blooming.”The earth isn’t responding to me properly,” she admitted sadly. \n”The Tides of Namea guide us all!” called Meha, adjusting her shell goggles and making the circular water sign her village drew each day on the shore . \nShe tried to draw a small wave from the nearby sea, but it splashed awkwardly, soaking only herself. The three friends gathered afterward, disappointed but comforting each other. \n”Our powers aren’t fully developed yet,”sighed Kama.”The elders say it takes years to truly channel the Volcano Spirit’s renewal.” \nLani nodded,”Mother says our people have always taken time to hear Paokera’s whispers through the roots.” \nMeha smiled sadly,”And I’m still learning to feel Namea’s currents as my ancestors always have.” \nAs the evening feast began, a sudden cold wind blew in from the ocean . Far out on the horizon, a faint, unnatural purple glow appeared and pulsed above the waves, like nothing they had ever seen before . \nA hush fell over the festival as everyone looked at the water. Something felt different to the three friends. Something wasn’t right. \nSuddenly, a tense murmur spread through the crowd.”The Wave Callers are wasting water!” shouted an elder from Kama’s people. \n”Your volcano offerings send ash that ruins our crops!” yelled someone from Lani’s community. The children watched in shock as arguments broke out everywhere . \nThe next day, the purple glow grew stronger.”The Root Tenders take too much land!”accused Meha’s aunt. \n”The Volcano Keepers think their fire is more important than our trees and plants,”muttered Lani’s father. The arguments grew worse with each passing hour.","cbCaiqhOdbDlGiev","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaiqhOdbDlGiev","pdf",136175,33,"English","en",105,"# Harmony Tide Festival\n## The Three Friends’ Emerging Powers\n## The Purple Glow and Rising Accusations","[{\"question\":\"What event sets the story in motion?\",\"answer\":\"The Harmony Tide Festival on Tadra Island brings the three peoples together to share songs, dances, and sacred stories by the sea.\"},{\"question\":\"Why do Kama, Lani, and Meha struggle with their powers at first?\",\"answer\":\"Kama’s flames burn too brightly and die out; Lani’s earth response produces only a flower that wilts quickly; Meha can’t draw a proper wave, soaking only herself.\"},{\"question\":\"What triggers the conflict among the communities?\",\"answer\":\"A faint unnatural purple glow appears offshore and pulsing near the horizon, followed by accusations that the groups are wasting water, ruining crops, and taking too much land.\"}]",1783570129,51,{"code":4,"msg":29,"data":30},"ok",{"site_id":23,"language":22,"slug":31,"title":13,"keywords":32,"description":14,"schema_data":33,"social_meta":85,"head_meta":87,"extra_data":89,"updated_unix":26},"roots-are-stronger-than-steel","",{"@graph":34,"@context":84},[35,52,67],{"@type":36,"itemListElement":37},"BreadcrumbList",[38,42,46,49],{"item":39,"name":40,"@type":41,"position":11},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":43,"name":44,"@type":41,"position":45},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":47,"name":12,"@type":41,"position":48},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/story-novel/",3,{"item":50,"name":13,"@type":41,"position":51},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/roots-are-stronger-than-steel/48640/",4,{"url":50,"name":13,"@type":53,"author":54,"headline":13,"publisher":56,"fileFormat":59,"inLanguage":22,"description":14,"dateModified":60,"datePublished":61,"encodingFormat":59,"isAccessibleForFree":62,"interactionStatistic":63},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":55},"Person",{"url":39,"name":57,"@type":58},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-07-13","2026-07-09",true,{"@type":64,"interactionType":65,"userInteractionCount":11},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":66},"ViewAction",{"@type":68,"mainEntity":69},"FAQPage",[70,76,80],{"name":71,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":73},"What event sets the story in motion?","Question",{"text":74,"@type":75},"The Harmony Tide Festival on Tadra Island brings the three peoples together to share songs, dances, and sacred stories by the sea.","Answer",{"name":77,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":78},"Why do Kama, Lani, and Meha struggle with their powers at first?",{"text":79,"@type":75},"Kama’s flames burn too brightly and die out; Lani’s earth response produces only a flower that wilts quickly; Meha can’t draw a proper wave, soaking only herself.",{"name":81,"@type":72,"acceptedAnswer":82},"What triggers the conflict among the communities?",{"text":83,"@type":75},"A faint unnatural purple glow appears offshore and pulsing near the horizon, followed by accusations that the groups are wasting water, ruining crops, and taking too much land.","https://schema.org",{"og:url":50,"og:type":86,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":57,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":88,"canonical":50},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":23},{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":91},[92,95,99,103,108,113,118,123,128,131,135],{"id":11,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":12,"show_sort_weight":93,"slug":94},90,"story-novel",{"id":45,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":96,"show_sort_weight":97,"slug":98},"Literature",80,"literature",{"id":51,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":100,"show_sort_weight":101,"slug":102},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":104,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":105,"show_sort_weight":106,"slug":107},5,"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":109,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":110,"show_sort_weight":111,"slug":112},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":114,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":115,"show_sort_weight":116,"slug":117},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":119,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":120,"show_sort_weight":121,"slug":122},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":124,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":125,"show_sort_weight":126,"slug":127},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":126,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":129,"show_sort_weight":126,"slug":130},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":132,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":133,"show_sort_weight":132,"slug":134},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":136,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":44,"category_name":137,"show_sort_weight":104,"slug":138},19,"General","general"]
