bookafter the success of the first, especially the 4th and 5th grade studentsat Lyncrest Elementary School of Fair Lawn in 2006-2007who requested a sequel. \n# Synopsis of Rodney,The Ice Dragon\n\nOnce upon a time,in the kingdom of Nockquan,a dragon named Rodney was born to Fire DragonsKing Bryce and Queen Tonya.Rodney was different from allthe other dragons, for they were allred, and he was blue.He was the rightful prince of Nockquan, but he was not respected. \nThe day after Rodney's birth, his father,King Bryce, flew up to inspect the kingdom for danger. He saw a hungry bear walking into the cave of his trusted servant,Torch, who was out telling thekingdom about Rodney's birth.Torch's newborn children,Crimson and Scarlet, were alone in thecave.Bryce flew down and fought the bear off,but it was too late.Torch's son,Crimson, waskilled, and Torch's daughter,Scarlet, disappeared. \nTorch arrived back at his cave and saw Bryce. He blamed Bryce for the deaths of both hischildren and flew away.Torch vowed he would return to Nockquan one day and kill Rodney toavenge his children. \nOne night,in a fierce blizzard, while Bryce was out hunting,Torch returned for revenge. He triedto kill Rodney, but Rodney's mother Tonya flew out into the blizzard with Rodney to protect him.Unfortunately,Tonya froze in the blizzard, and Bryce was thrown against a tree by the wind, breaking his neck after trying to distract Torch from harming Rodney.Torch, unaware of Bryceand Tonya's deaths, flew away but planned to return. In allthis disaster,Rodney found that hewas not cold despite the frigid temperature of the blizzard. \nRodney returned to the castle,Draug Roloc, upset and sad.The following spring,he met his firstfriend, who happened to be Scarlet. She had also been living on her own. They became closeand, when they became adults, they decided to teach themselves how to fly.It was this day thatTorch returned to take his revenge on Rodney. He chased Rodney up into the air.Rodneyprayed to the Almighty One for help and, receiving it,breathed a blast of ice upon Torch.Theice crystals turned Torch's leg into ice. Thus,Rodney discovered that he was the first Ice Dragonof Nockquan, which explained why the blizzard did not harm him.Torch, afraid and confused, found out that his daughter,Scarlet, was alive when he saw her and recognized her.Torchrealized his mistake in misjudging Bryce and Tonya when he learned of their deaths. He felthorrible and apologized to Rodney, who forgave him.In the end,Rodney and Scarlet becamethe King and Queen of Nockquan and, eventually, two little dragons were born to them:one aFire Dragon, and the other an Ice Dragon. But that wasn't the end... \n0% \n过 \n~~~ \nThe Ten Lessons of the Lives of Rodney's Children \n7 \nRemembering Those Who are Lost.
