You are now ready to schedule your road test with the State of Minnesota. \n􀁸 You will schedule the Road Test with the Minnesota Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) .(Community Education cannot schedule road test appointments. ) \n􀁸 Appointments scheduled online [at](at dvs.dps.mn.gov or)[ dvs.dps.mn.gov](at dvs.dps.mn.gov or)[ or](at dvs.dps.mn.gov or) by calling 651.284.1234. Be aware that appointments are scheduled many months in advance. Note: Online DVS only schedules two months out but by phone they will schedule further out. \n􀁸 The permit number from the student’s instruction permit is needed to schedule the appointment. \nWhen taking your road test and applying for your provisional license test you need the following 8 items: \n1. White Card signed by Kim Carlson. Your BTW instructor gives the white card to you after completing 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. \n2. Your valid photo instruction permit. \n3. Current (valid) original copy of your insurance card for the vehicle you will be driving on the road test. \n4. Your social security number completed on your application. \n5. The state fee for your provisional license. \n6. A parent and/or legal guardian to sign your application. \n7. Parental Curriculum Course Certificate of Completion. (If you attended the Parent/Student Safety meeting) . \n8. Supervised Driving Log. \nHelpful information to know before taking your road test: \n􀁸 Refer to the Minnesota Manual (pages 6-9) or download the manual [at](at MNDriveinfo.org)[ MNDriveinfo.org](at MNDriveinfo.org) to see what is expected on the road test. \n􀁸 Know and be able to perform the ten safety equipment checks of your vehicle. Refer to pages 7-8 in the manual. \n􀁸 You must provide your own vehicle (rental vehicles can NOT be used due to lack of insurance coverage by the rental companies) . \n􀁸 The doors must open from both the inside and outside. \n􀁸 Seat belts must work properly. The headlights, taillights, turn signals, and all brake lights must be in working order. \n􀁸 Vehicles with dealer license plates used for the road test must have the insurance card. \nReminders during the road test: \n􀁸 Your headlights must be on (not just the daytime running lights) . Do you know how to manually put on your vehicle’s headlights? Do you know how to use the climate controls? \n􀁸 Never do a rolling stop. Make complete stops. \n􀁸 Right turns should be 1½ to 2 feet from the curb. Pull over like a mini-lane change. Remember to check your blind spot before pulling over. \n􀁸 PR’s (Perceived Risks) will be strictly evaluated. Not looking in the proper place at the proper time could be a risk at stake. Four poor PR’s will result in a road test failure. \n􀁸 When applying for your provisional license, you will have the option to become an organ and tissue donor. \nIf you have questions or need assistance with the road test procedure, please contact the Department of Motor [Vehicle Services at dvs.dps.mn.gov](Vehicle Services at dvs.dps.mn.gov or)[ or](Vehicle Services at dvs.dps.mn.gov or) call 651.284.1234. \nThank you for choosing BHM Community Education! \nSept 2019","cbCaimYWuwlBCA4f","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaimYWuwlBCA4f","pdf",191110,"English","# Scheduling the road test\n## Required items for the road test\n# Helpful preparation information\n## Vehicle and driving expectations\n# Reminders during the road test\n# Contact and assistance","[{\"question\":\"How do you schedule a road test in Minnesota?\",\"answer\":\"Schedule through the Minnesota DVS either online at dvs.dps.mn.gov or by phone at 651.284.1234.
