Ifyou select a fantastical race you may wish to play a drow, following these additional rules during character creation \nAbility Score Increases \nWhen determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. Follow this rule regardless of the method you use to determine the scores, such as rolling or point buy. The “Quick Build” section foryour character’s class offers suggestions on which scores to increase. You can follow those suggestions or ignore them, but you can’t raise any ofyour scores above 20 . \nLanguages \nYour character can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. The Player ’s Handbook offers a list of languages to choose from. The DM is free to modify that list for a campaign. \nAevendrow \nAevendrow (or starlight elves) are a group of drow who live primarily in Callidae, a huge city hollowed out of ice and stone, though a few live in smaller (still nearby) communities. With Eilistraee’s protection they were hidden from Lolth and separate from the wider world, fearing what would happen if Lolth discovered them. Some still venture out to trade with the towns and tribes of Icewind Dale, and a scarce few set off on their own adventures, but as a whole, they largely keep to their own communities in almost a similar way to halflings. They’re the only Drow still able to enter Reverie due to Elistae still watching over them and a deal she made with the Seldarine. \nAevendrow Traits \nAs an aevendrow, you have the following racial traits. You are a Humanoid. You are also considered an elf and a drow for any prerequisite or effect \nthat requires you to be an elf or a drow. You are Medium. \n Your walking speed is 30 feet. \n You have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as ifit were bright light, and in darkness as ifit were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. \n You have advantage on saving throws you make to avoid or end the charmed condition on yourself. \n You have proficiency in the Perception skill. \n You don’t need to sleep, and magic can’t put you to sleep. You can finish a long rest in 4 hours ifyou spend those hours in a trancelike meditation, during which you retain consciousness. \nWhenever you finish this trance, you can gain two proficiencies that you don’t have, each one with a weapon or a tool ofyour choice selected from the Player ’s Handbook. You mystically acquire these proficiencies by drawing them from shared aevendrow memory, and you retain them until you finish your next long rest. \n You have resistance to cold damage. \nLorendrow \nLorendrow (or greenshadow elves) dwell in the deep jungle, primarily their central city of Saekolath.
