AIM: This study examines the association between NPAS2 expression and survival prognosis. METHODS: Tumor tissues and clinical data from 101 gastric cancer patients were analyzed using immunohistochemistry, Cox regression, and a nomogram with ROC, calibration, and C-index assessment, plus Kaplan-Meier survival stratification. RESULTS and CONCLUSION: High NPAS2 expression correlated with advanced clinicopathologic features and worse overall survival, supporting NPAS2 as an independent prognostic biomarker.",{"@graph":14,"@context":73},[15,34,56],{"@type":16,"itemListElement":17},"BreadcrumbList",[18,23,27,31],{"item":19,"name":20,"@type":21,"position":22},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",1,{"item":24,"name":25,"@type":21,"position":26},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":28,"name":29,"@type":21,"position":30},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/healthcare/","Healthcare",3,{"item":32,"name":10,"@type":21,"position":33},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/retrospective-study-high-expression-of-the-circadian-clock-gene-npas2-associated-with-progression-and-poor-prognosis-of-gastric-cancer/379000/",4,{"url":32,"name":10,"@type":35,"image":36,"author":41,"headline":10,"publisher":44,"fileFormat":47,"inLanguage":8,"description":12,"dateModified":48,"datePublished":49,"encodingFormat":47,"isAccessibleForFree":50,"interactionStatistic":51},"DigitalDocument",{"url":37,"@type":38,"width":39,"height":40},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/retrospective-study-high-expression-of-the-circadian-clock-gene-npas2-associated-with-progression-and-poor-prognosis-of-gastric-cancer/379000.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":42,"@type":43},"\tJames","Person",{"url":19,"name":45,"@type":46},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-10-28","2026-09-24",true,{"@type":52,"interactionType":53,"userInteractionCount":55},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":54},"ViewAction",9,{"@type":57,"mainEntity":58},"FAQPage",[59,65,69],{"name":60,"@type":61,"acceptedAnswer":62},"What However, the role of the circadian clock gene NPAS2 expression in GC remains unknown. \nAIM \nTo explore the relationship between NPAS2 and the survival prognosis of GC \n WJG [https://www.wjgnet.com](https://www.wjgnet.com) 3645 June 21, 2023 Volume 29 Issue 23 \nCao XM et al. NPAS2 is a prognostic biomarker for GC \npatients and clarify its role in evaluating GC prognosis. \nMETHODS \nThe tumor tissues and clinical data of 101 patients with GC were collected retrospectively. Immunohistochemical staining (IHC) was used to detect the expression of NPAS2 protein in GC and adjacent tissues. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis was used to determine the independent prognostic factors of GC, and a nomogram prediction model was established. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, the ROC area under the curve, the calibration curve, and C-index were used to evaluate the predictive effectiveness of the model. Kaplan Meier analysis was used to compare the risk stratification of subgroups according to the median score in the nomogram model of each patient. \nRESULTS \nMicroarray IHC analysis showed that the positive rate of NPAS2 protein expression in GC tissues was 65.35%, which was significantly higher than 30.69% in adjacent tissues.
