The approval will give shop tenant/owner the peace of mind that the works to be carried out are permissible and safe, and thereby avoiding the unnecessary cost and time of undoing the completed works. \nRenovation applications must be made by a Qualified Person (QP) i.e. Registered Architect or Professional Engineer registered with Professional Engineer Board (PEB) who will ensure that the proposed works are in compliance with building regulations. \nTo carry out renovation works i.e. alteration and addition work to the premises , you are required to engage licenced contractors listed in HDB Directory of Renovation Contractors. To check if the contractor is a HDB Registered Renovation Contractor, you may visit HDB InfoWEB. \nThe engagement of these contractors is strictly on a private basis between the shop tenant/owner and the contractors , and HDB is not privy to the contract. If there is any disagreement on the pricing, schedule, or quality of the renovation, both parties would have to resolve the matter between themselves. If the matter cannot be settled amicably, ","cbCaimjzHvO921qA","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaimjzHvO921qA","pdf",523905,13,"English","# Tenant/Owner’s Responsibilities for Fitting Out Works\n## Notice of Alteration (NOA) Works\n## Proper Disposal of Renovation Debris\n## Approval and Supervision by Other Authorities\n## Dos and Don’ts for Renovation\n## Material Used in Fitting Out Works\n## Periodic Structural Inspection (PSI)\n## Change of Use (COU) Requirements\n## Renovation Works\n## Window Safety, Installation and Maintenance\n## Submission of Application and Plans/Drawings","[{\"question\":\"What approvals are needed before starting shop fitting out works?\",\"answer\":\"Shop tenant/owner must obtain HDB’s prior approval before commencement of fitting out works.
