This three-year follow-up study analyzed clinical outcomes in 51 registry-enrolled patients with annual data collection and both cross-sectional and longitudinal statistical comparisons. Malignant neoplasms emerged from the fifth decade in about 30% of participants during the survey period. Renal function, assessed by creatinine- and cystatin C–based eGFR, showed index-dependent values and a rapid longitudinal decline. The findings indicate high cancer prevalence and possible fast renal deterioration, supporting active examinations and careful attention to drug selection and dosing.",{"@graph":69,"@context":121},[70,84,104],{"@type":71,"itemListElement":72},"BreadcrumbList",[73,77,79,82],{"item":74,"name":75,"@type":76,"position":8},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":78,"name":9,"@type":76,"position":14},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/",{"item":80,"name":40,"@type":76,"position":81},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/research-report/",3,{"item":83,"name":65,"@type":76,"position":19},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/renal-dysfunction-malignant-neoplasms-atherosclerotic-cardiovascular-diseases-and-sarcopenia-as-key-outcomes-observed-in-a-three-year-follow-up-study-using-the-werner-syndrome-registry/382736/",{"url":83,"name":65,"@type":85,"image":86,"author":91,"headline":65,"publisher":94,"fileFormat":97,"inLanguage":63,"description":67,"dateModified":98,"datePublished":98,"encodingFormat":97,"isAccessibleForFree":99,"interactionStatistic":100},"DigitalDocument",{"url":87,"@type":88,"width":89,"height":90},"https://docshare.wps.com/thumbnails/renal-dysfunction-malignant-neoplasms-atherosclerotic-cardiovascular-diseases-and-sarcopenia-as-key-outcomes-observed-in-a-three-year-follow-up-study-using-the-werner-syndrome-registry/382736.png","ImageObject",300,407,{"name":92,"@type":93},"นรินทร์","Person",{"url":74,"name":95,"@type":96},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-09-24",true,{"@type":101,"interactionType":102,"userInteractionCount":8},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":103},"ViewAction",{"@type":105,"mainEntity":106},"FAQPage",[107,113,117],{"name":108,"@type":109,"acceptedAnswer":110},"What was the main aim of the study on Werner syndrome outcomes?","Question",{"text":111,"@type":112},"To clarify the disease profile and secular variation of Werner syndrome over a three-year follow-up period.","Answer",{"name":114,"@type":109,"acceptedAnswer":115},"How were patients and data collected during the study?",{"text":116,"@type":112},"Fifty-one patients were enrolled in the Werner Syndrome Registry, with data collected annually after registration.",{"name":118,"@type":109,"acceptedAnswer":119},"What did the study find about malignant neoplasms and renal function?",{"text":120,"@type":112},"Malignant neoplasms were observed in about 30% of patients during the three-year period, starting from the fifth decade. This study aimed to clarify the profile and secular variation of the disease. Fifty-one patients were enrolled and registered in the Werner Syndrome Registry. Their data were collected annually following registration. A cross-sectional analysis at registration and a longitudinal analysis between the baseline and each subsequent year was performed. Pearson's chi-squared and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests were used. Malignant neoplasms were observed from the fifth decade of life (mean onset: 49.7 years) and were observed in approximately 30% of patients during the 3-year survey period.
