In Chapter One, Cupid tracks a broody client, Ira, through a striking observatory with oppressive steps and a basement labyrinth. The scene escalates through sharp dialogue, social friction, and a growing sense that Cupid’s mission—and her own resignation from love-making—may collide with uncertainty and painful realities.","[OceanofPDF.com](OceanofPDF.com) \nThis is a work of fiction. (Does that automatically brand her an arsehole? At least she’ll have something to ponder later while eating whatever a flatbread is.) Humans truly are fascinating! \nThe observatory she’s been hunting all morning is in her eye line. So, she slows down and pulls out her Cupido 3000. To be frank, she’s not supposed to use it Earth-side. Oh, heavens, it’s already in my hands! Death awaits regardless; perhaps monitoring this irascible man will sentence her quicker. One can only hope. \nCupid holds the light pink device flat in her palm, tilted towards the person who thinks she’s an arsehole. She can only see his back, but his shoulders are puffed out so much it looks like they haven’t taken a breath since last week. \nThe device beeps and Cupid’s not stunned when she glances down. Single. Simply astonishing! \nPerhaps he’s irritable because he’s single (and has been since 2014) . Though, that would put the blame on others and Cupid will not abide displaced blame. Certainly he’s alone because he thinks it reasonable to call a stranger an arsehole. A thought for another cupid, of course, because she has one mission left before eternal peace. Or eternal nothing at all. Cupid’snot sure what happens when she resigns from love making, but uncertainty is better than this. The bureaucracy and the suggestion that no one cares if \nthe love is healthy anymore makes her eye twitch, but the job has become statistics over real connections, so what is she to do? \nShe pockets her device and strolls to the observatory. Something Cupid was ignorant towards when she sat upstairs–Earth has some truthfully ridiculous architecture. The observatory is of a scale she was not expecting, with its large glass-domed roof, enormous limestone blocks and impressive mouldings. It’s definitely nothing as spectacular as home but she can’t deny that it is beautiful. She’s only been in Ira’s hometown for about an hour, but it is quite clear the landscape and buildings are most of the charm. \nCupid skips up the borderline oppressive steps that lead to the front doors. They almost wind her, but she battles through on the sheer excitement of being this close to done. Heavens, she is over love. Through with being forced to set people up when she knows it won’t work but hey, there is a quota to fill. \nThe only reason Cupid hasn’t given up before finding love for her last client is unadulterated stubbornness, and not from Cupid. Ira, the elusive, broody client who refuses to take her suggestions seriously, has been on her to do list for months. Dying before she has a cleaned list seems immoral. Or because she cares about Ira’s love life. It’s definitely one of the two.","cbCaivpkKPjaZL9t","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaivpkKPjaZL9t","pdf",1396653,80,"English","en",105,"# Contents\n## Chapter One\n## Chapter Two\n## Chapter Three\n## Chapter Four\n## Chapter Five\n## Chapter Six\n## Chapter Seven\n## Chapter Eight\n## Chapter Nine\n## Chapter Ten\n## Chapter Eleven\n## Chapter Twelve\n## Epilogue\n## About the Author","[{\"question\":\"Why is Ira difficult for Cupid to reach?\",\"answer\":\"Ira is elusive and refuses Cupid’s suggestions, staying hidden at their desk and rarely speaking more than a few words a day.\"}]","Regrettable Regards - Chapter One | PDF",1785659590,123,{"code":4,"msg":30,"data":31},"ok",{"site_id":23,"language":22,"slug":32,"title":13,"keywords":33,"description":14,"schema_data":34,"social_meta":78,"head_meta":80,"extra_data":82,"updated_unix":27},"regrettable-regards-chapter-one","",{"@graph":35,"@context":77},[36,53,68],{"@type":37,"itemListElement":38},"BreadcrumbList",[39,43,47,50],{"item":40,"name":41,"@type":42,"position":11},"https://docshare.wps.com","Home","ListItem",{"item":44,"name":45,"@type":42,"position":46},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/","Document",2,{"item":48,"name":12,"@type":42,"position":49},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/story-novel/",3,{"item":51,"name":13,"@type":42,"position":52},"https://docshare.wps.com/document/regrettable-regards-chapter-one/116475/",4,{"url":51,"name":13,"@type":54,"author":55,"headline":13,"publisher":57,"fileFormat":60,"inLanguage":22,"description":14,"dateModified":61,"datePublished":62,"encodingFormat":60,"isAccessibleForFree":63,"interactionStatistic":64},"DigitalDocument",{"name":9,"@type":56},"Person",{"url":40,"name":58,"@type":59},"DocShare","Organization","application/pdf","2026-08-05","2026-08-02",true,{"@type":65,"interactionType":66,"userInteractionCount":11},"InteractionCounter",{"@type":67},"ViewAction",{"@type":69,"mainEntity":70},"FAQPage",[71],{"name":72,"@type":73,"acceptedAnswer":74},"Why is Ira difficult for Cupid to reach?","Question",{"text":75,"@type":76},"Ira is elusive and refuses Cupid’s suggestions, staying hidden at their desk and rarely speaking more than a few words a day.","Answer","https://schema.org",{"og:url":51,"og:type":79,"og:title":13,"og:site_name":58,"og:description":14},"article",{"robots":81,"canonical":51},"index,follow",{"doc_id":7,"site_id":23},{"code":4,"msg":5,"data":84},[85,88,91,95,100,105,110,115,120,123,127],{"id":11,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":12,"show_sort_weight":86,"slug":87},90,"story-novel",{"id":46,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":89,"show_sort_weight":20,"slug":90},"Literature","literature",{"id":52,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":92,"show_sort_weight":93,"slug":94},"Exam",70,"exam",{"id":96,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":97,"show_sort_weight":98,"slug":99},5,"Comic",60,"comic",{"id":101,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":102,"show_sort_weight":103,"slug":104},6,"Technology",50,"technology",{"id":106,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":107,"show_sort_weight":108,"slug":109},7,"Healthcare",40,"healthcare",{"id":111,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":112,"show_sort_weight":113,"slug":114},8,"Research & Report",30,"research-report",{"id":116,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":117,"show_sort_weight":118,"slug":119},9,"Religion & Spirituality",20,"religion-spirituality",{"id":118,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":121,"show_sort_weight":118,"slug":122},"World Cup","world-cup",{"id":124,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":125,"show_sort_weight":124,"slug":126},10,"Lifestyle","lifestyle",{"id":128,"doc_module":4,"doc_module_name":45,"category_name":129,"show_sort_weight":96,"slug":130},19,"General","general"]
