Applications for all students applying to Morristown Beard are reviewed holistically, and the admission test scores are weighted in the application review process as one data point in your student’s application.  \nThe Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE) is a standardized test whose purpose is to help admissions committees at private schools evaluate the potential performance of applicants. More than 1,200 independent schools around the world accept ISEE scores as part of their admissions processes.  \nThe Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) is a standardized exam used to assess the abilities of students who want to attend an independent school. It is not an IQ test; rather, it measures your student’s verbal, math, and reading skills. The purpose of the SSAT is to help admission committees determine whether applicants will be successful at their school.  \nMorristown Beard School does not have a preference for one test over the other. We recommend trying the sample or practice tests offered on each platform ’s website to see which format your student prefers.  \nMorristown Beard School does not recommend that families do much, if any, test prep for the ISEE or the SSAT, nor do we recommend that students take the test multiple times.  \nAdmission tests must be taken between August 1, 2025, and December 19, 2025.  \nWe encourage applicants to register for their desired test date early in the admission season as seats for these tests fill up quickly. There are both at-home and on-site testing options available; please check all of the options as you register.  \n Applicants can register for the ISEE on their website or call (800) 446-0320.  \n Applicants can register for the SSAT on their website or call (609) 683-4440.  \nTesting Score Reports are only accepted directly from the testing organizations. Please provide the testing organization with the following appropriate code in order forward the results to MBS.
