Opening a booth to sell baked  \ngoods at the outdoor market was one of those projects. My booth was only open on weekends, which was convenient, leaving weekdays free to bake and plenty of time to spend with my two new grandsons, who had been born in May. And then there was little Lilly, who was the first apple of my eye—her brother and cousin being the second and third apples. She was three going on thirty and would talk your head off if you gave her the chance.  \nSandy Harbor was a small town, and I felt like I knew almost everyone there, but selling baked goods from the booth had introduced me to a lot of people I didn’t know, and that wasn’t including the tourists who came to escape their lives and soak up a little sun on the beach for the summer. After a month of selling cupcakes and cookies and getting to know new people, I felt like the belle of the ball with the praises I received on my wares.  \nIt was the Fourth of July, and I was wearing a cute pair of white shorts, a navy blue top, and my long red, curly hair set everything off just right. Today was going to be a fantastic day.  \n“Allie, do you have any cherry pies?”  \nI looked up at who had asked me this question. It was Holly Dixon. I smiled. “I’ve got one full-sized cherry pie left and a few mini pies. Which would you like? And how are you doing, Holly?”Holly was one of those people who had lived in Sandy Harbor all her life, and I ran into her all over town, it seemed.  \nShe put a hand up to shield her eyes from the sun and glanced atthe shelf along the back wall of the booth.“Mini pies?
