It has been translated into several community languages also.  \nColoured illustrations are from Sweet Publishing.  \nReader 4: Noah's story  \nEnglish  \n Noah's story  \nAfter God had created the earth and all the living things, the man and the woman had children, and their children had children, and soon, the earth was full of people .  \nBut the people became evil and started doing evil things to each other .  \nGod saw this, and he became very sad. He was sorry he ever created the earth and all the living things, and he  \ndecided to destroy his creation .  \nBut one man, Noah, was a good man, and he was loved by God.  \nGod did not want to destroy Noah, and therefore, he said to him,“I am going to let it rain for forty days and forty nights, and the earth will be covered with water, and all the people and animals and other living things will die . I want you to build a large boat and bring your family into the boat, along with one pair of each type of animal – one male and one female, and  \nwhen the rain comes, you will all live .” And Noah did as God had said. Then the rain came .  \nIt rained for forty days and forty nights, and the earth was covered with water . All the people and animals and all the living things died. But God did not forget Noah; he and his family and all the animals  \nthat were with him on the boat were safe, just as God had said.  \nWhen the forty days and forty nights had passed, the rain stopped, and the water slowly started to dry up. One day, Noah took one of the doves on the boat and sent it out to look for dry land, but the dove could not find any dry land and returned to the boat.  \nAfter another seven days, Noah sent out the dove again, and this time  \nthe dove did not return to the boat. Noah knew that the water was now gone . Then God said to Noah,“Take your family and all the animals and leave the boat.”  \nAnd Noah did as God had said.  \nThen God said,“From you and your family and all the animals that were with you on the boat, I will let the earth be filled with life again, and I will never again destroy myand I will never again destroy my creation .”  \nAnd God gave as a sign of his promise a rainbow, and he said,“Whenever you seethe rainbow, remember my promise!” And Noah did as God had said.  \nLesson 1  \n People fill the earth  \nAfter God had created the earth and all the living things, the man and the woman had children, and their children had children, and soon, the earth was full of people .  \nTalk about these questions together  \n1.
