Scheduled sensory integration and guidance sessions support safe, engaging progress for children and reassurance for parents.","RAINBOW FRIENDS  \nSPECIAL NEEDS-FOCUSED PROGRAM  \nRAINBOW FRIENDS  \nRainbow Friends is an individualized and feedback-based special needs-focused program that focuses on social-emotional learning, communication, functional literacy, and other skills that are important to these children such as the following:  \n Social interaction abilities with an emphasis on improved focus and verbal communications skills  \n Behavioral coherence with reduced impulses including tiptoeing and walking in circles  \n Understanding nonverbal cues and using situationally appropriate body language  \n Capability to recognize, manage, and express emotions and feelings appropriately.  \n20  \nMinutes  \nFacilitated Social Interaction is a segment in which trainers identify students who can potentially interact together with a friend who has similar engagement levels. Trainers then facilitate interaction among identified pairs using interactive tools. Students will practice eye contact, learn turn-taking, and engage in general communication.  \n20  \nMinutes  \nSensory Integration-Students will be encouraged to use tactile sensory stimulating tools to improve tactile defensiveness while reducing sensory-seeking behavior. Tactile sensory activities are also incorporated to improve sensory integration.  \nOUR PROGRAM  \n20  \nMinutes  \nBody Language and Non-Verbal Signals-Students will be engaged in activities, with the use of appropriate tools, to improve the movement and coordination of their limbs, and other large body parts. These may include writing skills.  \n20  \nMinutes  \n10  \nMinutes  \nSocial Emotional Learning and Regulation - As a part of their social interaction development, students will be learning important techniques to recognize and identify their emotions, and how to regulate these identified emotions.  \nIndividual Guiding Sessions-The trainer will select each student to assist in areas identified by parents ( Example: Handwriting and additional sensory stimulation).  \nPROGRAM  \nOUTCOME  \nThrough Rainbow Friends, we hope to reach out to the special needs community and provide a safe space for children to learn and develop essential skills. We'd also like to use this opportunity to give parents a break while their children learn in a safe and fun environment.  \nRainbow Friends also aims to provide moral support to parents who are dealing with the difficulties of caring for their special children. This will aid in the reduction of possibly dangerous sensory-seeking behavior. |\n| \u003Cbr>Develop spatial awareness through attracting learners' attention to steps taken forward or backward, and drawing their attention to what is around them.
