The changes, which are in the implementation plan, move the design of Apprenticeships into the hands of employers to make them more rigorous and responsive to employers’needs . Employers will now undertake the design of an Apprenticeship for each occupation that they identify as requiring apprentices. \nIt is intended that from 2017/2018, all Apprenticeships in England will use the new Apprenticeship Standards and Assessment Plans designed by employers and approved by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) . \nAll new employer-designed Apprenticeships will: \n● be based on the required level of skills, knowledge and competency to undertake a specific occupation well and operate confidently in a sector . This forms the standard for the Apprenticeship. The assessment of an apprentice will be against this standard. Apprentices will be awarded a certificate of completion only when they have demonstrated their ability in all areas of the standard \n● use a single approach to assessment against the standard. This should include a range of assessment methods that cover the theoretical and practical elements of the Apprenticeship \n● have a synoptic end-point assessment that requires the apprentice to use their skills, knowledge and behaviours effecti","cbCaitXRG7JnPpmd","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaitXRG7JnPpmd","pdf",519344,39,"English","# Introducing the New Apprenticeships in England\n# The Railway Engineering Design Technician Apprenticeship\n## Overview\n# Overview of the Skills and Knowledge Portfolio\n## Purpose\n# Delivering the Skills and Knowledge Portfolio\n## Centre recognition and approval\n## Centre resource requirements\n## Language of assessment\n## Method of assessment\n## Assessment standards and requirements\n## Making valid assessment decisions\n## Administrative arrangements\n## Dealing with malpractice in assessment\n# Access and recruitment\n# Quality assurance of centres\n# Further information and useful publications\n# Professional development and training\n# Contact us","[{\"question\":\"What is the purpose of the Skills and Knowledge Portfolio in this apprenticeship?\",\"answer\":\"It is a mandatory assessment component for the Railway Engineering Design Technician Apprenticeship, designed to capture and assess required skills and knowledge against the apprenticeship standard.\"},{\"question\":\"How are apprentices assessed under the new Apprenticeships in England?\",\"answer\":\"Assessment is single and standard-based, includes theoretical and practical elements, uses synoptic end-point assessment, and typically requires at least two thirds of assessment to occur at the end of the programme.\"},{\"question\":\"What centre requirements and processes are covered for delivering the portfolio?\",\"answer\":\"The specification outlines centre recognition and approval, resource requirements, assessment language and methods, administrative arrangements, quality assurance, and how to deal with malpractice in assessment.\"}]","Railway Engineering Design Technician Apprenticeship - Skills and Knowledge Portfolio - Assessment delivery specification | PDF",1792473490,98]
