Students currently enrolled in the Radiography Program will be informed of policy updates via any or all the following: course announcements, e-mails, text messages, or course syllabi. \nThe Radiography Program Handbook was revised in July 2026. \nWelcome to the Radiography Profession \nThe staff ofthe RCSJ Radiography Program welcomes student radiographers to a warm, friendly environment to learn. The field of Radiography is a new world as it is the first encounter with the behindthe-scenes operation of various imaging healthcare sites. \nThe student will be part ofa medical team working in a branch of medicine called Diagnostic Imaging or Radiology. Students will assist physicians known as Radiologists who specialize in the use of X-rays and other imaging methods to diagnose and treat various injuries and diseases. Students will play a vital role ina science dedicated to saving lives and alleviating human suffering. \nThe education of radiographers is different from the education provided in other academic settings. Part of the education will be in the classroom and the other will be a practical clinical experience. During the next two years, students will be closely observed in the classroom and in the clinical agency. Students will be working closely with staff radiographers, physicians, and healthcare staff. Upon the successful completion of the program, students will be qualified to work in a hospital, diagnostic imaging center, physician's office, and with mobile imaging companies. \nThis handbook will help students become acquainted with the RCSJ Radiography Program. As a student, there will be many expectations. Students will have new responsibilities and will be required to meet professional standards. \nTo offer efficient and professional service to patients, regulations within the clinical agencies are necessary. These will be reviewed for students in this handbook, the college handbook, and the college catalog. All student radiographers are subject to the basic rules and regulations of the hospital, imaging department, and the school program. \nSincerely, \nJoy MacMahan, M.Ed., R.T.(R) Program Director, Radiography \nProgram Staff \nProgram Director \nClinical Education Coordinator Lab Assistant \nJoy MacMahan, M.Ed., R.T (R) Natasha Cordero, M.Ed., R.T (R) Katrina Thompson, M.Ed., R.T (R) \nCo","cbCaibjOl1hwi5qQ","https://ap.wps.com/l/cbCaibjOl1hwi5qQ","pdf",1199204,59,"English","# Welcome to the Radiography Profession\n## Program Staff\n## Contents\n## Campus Resources\n## Professional Societies\n## RCSJ Mission & Core Values\n## Program Mission & Student Learning Goals\n## Program Policies\n## Student Expectations\n## Program Grading, Progression & Non-Progression\n## Program Readmission/Remediation\n## Program Curriculum\n## Clinical Education\n## Clinical Essential Functions","[{\"question\":\"What equal opportunity and non-discrimination commitments does the handbook describe?\",\"answer\":\"The handbook states the college is committed to providing an academic and workplace environment that promotes affirmative action and equal opportunity without discrimination based on listed protected categories.\"},{\"question\":\"How are students informed about updates to program policies?\",\"answer\":\"Students are informed of policy updates through course announcements, e-mails, text messages, and/or course syllabi.\"},{\"question\":\"What is the radiography student’s role in the medical team?\",\"answer\":\"Students assist in Diagnostic Imaging/Radiology and work with radiologists and healthcare staff using X-rays and other imaging methods to diagnose and treat injuries and diseases.\"}]","Radiography Program Handbook - 2026-2027 | PDF",1789993164,149]
